Default How much is too much?

I know there are many stealth users who have several accounts. In the double digits.

For some reaosn though, i am fine with just one.
I can do everything i need to do with just this one stealth.

Which is where i run into this problem....

How much money is too much money to keep in my paypal account?
Is 10,000 too much in a paypal account for a stealth account.

Not saying that this is what i have..
But just want to know

I also know that it is not recommended to withdraw
too much from the account. So i just want to know..

Is it safe to just rack up on one stealth account?

I honestly do not need more than one although i should
have a back up.

no such word as too much, you need to rephrase the question to, are you willing to be without the money possibly forever should something happen? If no you have your answer, its yes you have your answer.

All about that one question to me..

When you start pushing a lot of money through any 1 account either Ebay or Paypal your going to run into problems.

Op breaks the 1st rule of marketing & stealth. Always have a "fall back" position. Really asking for all kinds of trouble. To my mind more than a few return monies left in PP is too much. How would one ever expect to be able to get $10K out of PP?

Do you want to say that it is impossible to get large amounts back from pp? even after 180 days?

This kind of question is exactly WHY you need backups...10k is way too much to have in a pp account...

The real question you MUST ask yourself: how much money can you handle being tied up in PP for 180 days IF you get limited (without losing your cool, losing out on bill payments, etc)...

Based on THAT question, you must act accordingly

I agree with you guys.

OP, you need to ask yourself, are you willing to kiss this money goodbye OR fight a long battle over it with pp OR at lease wait for 180 days for it??

pp isn't your reliable bank where you leave your funds.
New strategy is needed on your side.

Never keep as much as you're willing to lose in an account.

But, you need backups. Never put all of your eggs in one basket.

I'd like to think the $10K was an arbitrary number thrown out there. That obviously is way too much.

As other posters have mentioned, keep what you are comfortable being tied up for 180 days.

Personally, I keep enough in there to cover eBay fees + unexpected claims/chargebacks. You never want to deplete the funds.

I would leave as little as possible in the account. That is not to say you need to withdraw every day, but once a week you should take out anything that is not necessary to cover your eBay fees and a reserve for refunds/chargebacks.

You want to avoid PayPal ever trying to withdraw money from your bank account, so you don't want to empty it, just try to use your best judgment of how much to leave in.

No way would I leave 10k in any paypal.

I also would not be comfortable with one account.

I clean all payplas out and when listing items to sell I leave just enough to cover fees and a couple returns etc.

I assume you posted the 10k number to get a reaction because few sellers would leave that much in an account.

I've had over 5k in a limited paypal account, and was able to get the money after 180 days, so as long as they keep paying out after 6 months, you can leave as much as you want in your account.

I've had accounts limited with a couple grand in pending sales, and I've chosen to fulfill the orders because I know I can withdraw after 180 days.

As An0nym0u$ wrote a few posts back, I will echo the same sentiment. Leave what you can afford to be without for 6 months. If going 6 months without 10,000 is ok for you, then feel free to. The problem you will encounter, is that now you don't look like a part time seller, you look like a professional seller and paypal will be expecting you to prove your identity with your SSN soon.

I keep 3 x average sales + eBay fees.

10k is way too much.

I have hot news for you all. I just got an ok to withdraw notice after 180 days. I quickly transfer the money the next day after I add a bank account.I come to find out pp reversed the withdrawal. the next day and my account is once again limited for 45 days. A close friend composed a marvelous email and I sent it 24 hrs. ago and no response yet. I am clueless & I hope it wasn't the addition that flagged it? This is the 1st time I have lost more than a few $ but this was $$. I closed the account because I didn't want to waste the monthly fees. I really didn't think there was a snow ball's chance in hell to get it Always learning, too bad it's so expensive.

The additional 45 days is worrisome - have you bothered calling? E-mail takes time to reply too - can't expect reply within 24 hours.

That sounds different, usually they permanently limit the account then in 180 days you withdraw money and that's it.

I don't understand how they limited you again for 45 days when the account was already limited?

I don't have a clue. But you are right. I don't remember what the actual status was when I couldn't use it. All I know is on the 27th I got a notice, OK to withdraw. The rest is in my post. (I'm throwing my hands in the air)

I've had over 15k in a few accounts that were frozen. I never had any issues getting money out after 180 days.

It also depends on what you're selling. If you have lots of complaints for vero items and there is a risk of a judgement against you by the verified rights owner, then PP will keep the money for themselves and/or to reimburse to the rights owner.
