| westcoast_d | 12-01-2013 07:45 PM | Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice I'm expecting around $10,000 dollars from a customer for a purchase, he wants to use PayPal invoice, would it be ok to receive this amount of money?
My PayPal account is 1 year old, have sent about 100 invoices so far with the max transaction been $3000. |
Re: Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice Max transaction being $3000....10k could still cause a limitation...have you had the PP limited before? Can the customer pay with other way, like bank transfer? |
BigCJ | 12-01-2013 07:58 PM | Re: Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice Yeahhhhhh no...
With an amount like that bank transfer would be the ONLY way to go... |
westcoast_d | 12-01-2013 07:58 PM | Re: Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice No this PayPal has not been limited before. I slightly increased the receiving amounts to $3k.
Can't use any other way, I'm in Australia & the customer is in the states. He only feels safe using PayPal. |

Grimmejaw | 12-02-2013 02:54 PM | Re: Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice Is this your real paypal account? Not a stealth? 10,000 is a lot of money especially if it's in one payment. You will most likely be limited by PayPal asking for proof of item receipt and tax ID info. Better to use a different method ex. Bank transfer or checks. Better yet meet up with your buyer in person. |

LoopHole | 12-02-2013 05:30 PM | Re: Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice Could do it and everything could go ok.
Could do it and cause a limitation to the account.
If i were you i'd do it another way. But if i were forced to receive the 10k to my pp account. After receving it i would call pp and talk to them about the transaction and make sure everything is ok on their and my end.
Some may say that's stupid. But i do things differently than most. |

swingforthefences | 12-04-2013 04:51 PM | Re: Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice You'd pay a stupid amount of money in PayPal fees so even if you had to cover his wire transfer costs, which shouldn't be much more than $35, you'd still be ahead of the game. Worst case scenario, you could have him send a cheque. You'll wait for a while for the cheque to clear but at least you wouldn't be paying crazy fees and you wouldn't risk the chance of getting your PP account limited. |

That much is going to trigger the anti-laundering issues ..... are you prepared there? |
BigCJ | 12-05-2013 10:21 AM | Re: Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice I just see them saying its ok to get the funds with no issue, limiting your account, and then requesting the moon and stars from the OP. |

Re: Receiving large amount of money via PayPal invoice Many an option exists to split up the payments OP? Not just to one pp... |

With an amount like that bank transfer would be the ONLY way to go... | DC/CC should still go through with PP, at least for 9999.99$ .
I have 10k limit on of my DC, but even a 13$k payment went through the other day.
US of course OP. |

Thanks for the info LoopHole! Would you suggest call first or call after? | I suggest you leave this as your last option. And be prepared to answer questions, and a limitation to your account. As i said before, its not set in stone that this will happen. But there is a chance.
Talk to your buyer, see what else he is willing to do. Give him a discount or something if he agrees to do it a simpler way. |
