| | | Mrtazz | 12-11-2013 07:50 AM | account linking via ebay apps on smart phone Hi,
I currently use wifi hotspot via mobile data on my laptop. I know turning airplane mode on and off changes the ip address.
Can I do the same but switch accounts on the ebay app on my phone? Obviously changing ip address before switching accounts.
The reason why I ask this is when im.out and about I would like to log in to my accounts to see what is going on and not wait to get home to check. |
| ilcarletto | 12-11-2013 08:03 AM | Re: account linking via ebay apps on smart phone You shall also take into consideration cookies between accounts.
Phones apps could be dangerous if you do not know exactly what they do and what they share.
I would stick to the laptop.
If you just want to check what is going on, you can still read emails (from web interface providing you follow the guide instructions) and see what your account/seller is doing from Ebay without logging in.
(I do not know if it is clear but I use to check my auction from work and looking on ebay for the items I am selling on the stealth accounts without logging in. I can see if there are any bids or if an item is not there anymore). |

| JamesNorth101 | 12-11-2013 09:06 AM | Re: account linking via ebay apps on smart phone What ever you do do NOT use the APP. Major danger there. |
Re: account linking via ebay apps on smart phone Do NOT use the eB app. Also recommend just stick to laptop for checking accounts properly - changing IP as needed. |

I realize it may be convenient to use the apps, but like stated by previous posters it is far more worse for stealth.
You can reply through Gmail to questions and see when items are sold or when you receive payments. No good comes from using the apps. |
| Mrtazz | 12-12-2013 05:34 PM | Re: account linking via ebay apps on smart phone Thanyou all. Gmail it is, safe and sound.
Btw can accounta be linked on if you constantly have items from the same seller on your watchlist? |
| zagy123 | 12-13-2013 03:41 AM | Re: account linking via ebay apps on smart phone Jist a question: can EBay link me with my MAC address? |

thats the only pro.
the cons out weight the pro mentioned above thugh. And what do you mean answer / reply through Gmail? Unless you see the buyer's email address in PP you need to actually log onto EB . . . right? on a side note can somebody share a screenshot of the Excel spreadsheet they use to organize visually all the diff. EB stealth and when payments are received etc? |
Re: account linking via ebay apps on smart phone Conveniency outweighs the rough situation of linking.
@hapa, right on about Gmail |

| I mean, If a buyer sent you an email regarding one of your items, you can reply to the question from the buyer through GMail. I do this all the time. Ebay/PP/Amazon will see the IP of Google's server.
I hardly ever answer questions directly through eBay, unless the question comes at the same time I'm sitting in front my computer and logged into that particular stealth account.
My point is, there are may ways you can operate successfully without using the Apps. This thread is regarding the usage of the apps and I'm providing my own examples. What may work for me, may not be convenient for someone else. |

** im having a hard time understanding how the log-in to EB or PP etc. will not automatically link you to stealth even on your smartphone ... ? its not gonna do that simply b/c you clicked the link through GMail, so the IP of GMail is shown ? i dont get it ... |

| No, never click on the direct link to answer the question. That will redirect you back into ebay/pp/amazon and ultimately link you.
Simply reply to the GMail message as you would any other GMail sender. The message will get forwarded to the buyer and into their message box on whatever platform it originated from. |
Re: account linking via ebay apps on smart phone Gmail reply only |
| peghmeypong | 02-14-2014 07:03 PM | Re: account linking via ebay apps on smart phone Reply to it like it's an email. It'll be redirected through to the senders ebay inbox. They just see it as a normal ebay reply. Really handy and, as has already been said, ebay just sees gmail's server IP. You can do it in any email address in browser or in iOS or android etc. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:39 AM. | |
