buying from a stealth account with stealth address

My stealth ebay acc is set to a bogus address. Im planning on buying a few low value items to get a bit of feedback before starting to sell.

Is it OK to request a different delivery address to the seller that is connected to a suspended account?

I would be happy to just order a couple of 99p items and forget it but concerned the folk at the bogus address could get in touch with ebay and rumble my account?

Sorry if this has already been covered i have not found anything on it.

Cheers

re: buying from a stealth account with stealth address

there are ways that are safer to do it but prob not best to blab on forum.

I strongly suggest you do not use other peoples residential addresses, again better ways to do it. Obviously having it sent as a gift to a suspended acc address is a no no..

the only solution I can post here is buy goods that do not require shipping, not too many but a couple is ok. If you know what wording to look for, there are digital goods out there that the seller says goes out by post to comply with ebay rules but actually it is an download, you can message seller and feel them out saying you just need it now and no need to send, they will be happy and so will you. If it is low priced they will not worry about it.

It is seller feedback that is important anyway not buyer. You do not need loads of buyer fb to start selling, if you sell low priced items, people will buy them.....

I have the same issue myself. Oompaloompa, I saw couple of threads recommending to get about 10 feedback as a buyer before starting to sell. Not sure if it is necessary. Personally, I would probably get 1-3 local pickup items.
Also, what do you think about paying for the item, then immediately send an email to the seller (from paypal, where it gives the seller email) telling them I forgot to change the address and this is a gift for a friend, then providing them with a different address (not the suspended account address, of course).
I also thought about giving them a call, which would probably be even a safer approach than email.

I have searched this quite a bit and seen many differing opinions, Some say list straight away ( following stealth principles ) others say wait weeks, build some feedback, don't build feedback - a mixed bag of opinions. The only no brainer is listing loads of ipads etc straight away :d

How about postal order or cash with a note saying please send to my work address as it's a gift? Note this is a question rather than an opinion based on any experience.

re: buying from a stealth account with stealth address

I just would not add a real delivery address suspended or not on the site, for starters an address is valuable, good for returns sticker or a future account or your own personal paypal purchases on your real acc.....

the postal order thing is not great, as alot of room for confusion, and if it is low value, it is hassle, plus I think a seller would faint if they got a non paypal request. For an expensive item, I suppose you want to receive it, worth a try...need to be careful, plus a seller may always blab your address on the site to cover themselves.

I think people think they need alot of buyer fb to start selling, which is not true, but selling with zero is not great either as you may not get many sales, although very cheap items/bargains will always get a buyer...5 fb is easily enough....it is down to personal opinion though....

you should never create and list straight away anyway, over 3 months with some browsing and buying is good...

Yes, that definitely makes sense.

Read so many varying reports on when it's "safe" to start selling from 30 minutes after creation to months! I agree though it is ideal how you have suggested, though of course there are sometimes financial obligations which mean the ideal cannot always be followed. Assuming the principles of not starting off with numerous ipads, mobiles, vero stuff etc are followed I still think the ' when to start ' question is still a grey area. Then again with the unpredictable nature of ebay and paypal there are alot of grey and unfathomable areas!!

I tried to be clever and have 2 parts quoted, but ended up with none!

It is a really silly idea to think of doing this.

Your ideal approach is to have an address that you can easily access.

What happens, and what has happened to some users, the people at the bogus address have got in touch with ebay. They made no end of troubles for the seller.

I can not suggest strongly enough that you have access to your address.

Your stealth account should operate the same as a real account. And that means access to the address.

Would have to discuss that with your seller - some may accept it...some, not

Re: buying from a stealth account with stealth address

I just found out last week that sending email/call the seller with a different

address might not work with seller who doesn't read her email, and never

answers her phone, which also doesn't have the option to leave a voice mail.

I now have to go to my bogus apt complex and try to explain them that I

accidentally sent an item to their address, instead to another apt address where

my friend lives.

I can use about 7 address which I have access to right when i start every

stealth and solve this issue, but I don't want to "burn" these address in case i

get hit with an early mc999 or something goes wrong. I prefer to have the

account verified and established with some feed/history/browsing before I

change its address to an accessible one/p.o box.

As a newbie I might just wrote a stupid thing. I don't know if it makes sense

or not to users with more experience.
