Getting eaten alive by MC999's.

Hi all - I could really use some help.

I've been at this for a long time, but fell out of the game for about 2 years. I have several established, long-term accounts in storage but I'm hesitant to bring them out of the closet to sell this new product I'm dealing with.

I'm trying to set up new accounts for this new project and I'm getting destroyed by MC999's left and right. I've set up new accounts properly, and I keep getting taken down after my 2nd sale.

Every time it's been the same. I call in, they can't verify any of my info against any database, I get transferred to Customer Vetting, and then I get shot down.

How are people getting around this?!

Do not sell a new product on a new account.

Sell yard sale, household, books etc until you can get a few feedbacks.

The items are not new, they're just new for me to sell them.

Try low end items and establish some history , don't hit hard on new accounts.

Best of luck

@Omgoozle, how long are you waiting with your account before turning it into a seller's account? Are you establishing some buying feedback and such?

The items I'm selling are $6 each.

I'm waiting about 3 weeks.

Buying feedback? A few. Not more than 3.

OK, so it is a low cost product. But is it considered high-risk?

3 weeks is good ...what are you using as phone number?

I used to sell in this category 2 years ago and it wasn't. I USED to have no problem making 30 accounts and selling 5 items on each the same day they were created.

But eB's made some sweeping changes to my category over the last year which have changed the scene dramatically. I'm honestly not sure if it's high risk or not at this point.

:(

textplus. Which is amazing once you get used to it.

What kind of mc999 are you getting? Just the identity verification or a listing violation? I often list a really low risk item like a book for my first listing item and actually hope I get the verification mc999 so I can get it over with. I stopped making stealth accounts 3 month ago due to ebay getting stricter on the holiday seasons so I'm not sure what is happening. Maybe try waiting till the holiday seasons are over and start making stealth again.

Re: Getting eaten alive by MC999's.

I'm getting the ID verification, but I'm not getting the softball questions.

No matter how many times I try, every time I call and my name/address doesn't match their records, I am transferred to Customer Vetting and they either (A) suspend the account permanently or (B) send me the request for documentation.

I can't figure out what the buzzwords are to make them not trash the account. My friend says I just naturally sound like a douche on the phone, so that could be it.

Get a prepaid cell phone with at least 20 mins on it. (text plus, gv and other free services are getting shot down like mad)

Then list a book at a buy it now price between 4-9 with their standard settings.

How are you accessing these accounts?

Are you still overseas or back state-side?

Few missing details.

Situation with paypal not mentioned either.

Confirm these are MC999 supply ID within a certain time frame or something different?

This is the first negative thing I've heard about textplus on these boards. GV is dead for a million reasons, but is Textplus going down too?

I have the intention to set up between 50-150 accounts (again). I can't handle that many prepaid cellphones.

1. Via laptop at a local cafe.
2. I'm stateside again. Hooray! :D
3. PP and eB are linked, and CC is confirmed with the $1.95 verification code. There is no VBA on the PP.

There are 2 "stages" to this limitation. The first MC999 that comes in is some kind of ID verification MC999. I'll take note of the exact wording tomorrow.

Then once I call in and my stealth info doesn't match public records, it turns into either the Supply ID within 48-72 hours MC999, or it turns into an indefinite suspension.

Laptop via the local cafe rings BIG DANGER bells for me.

IP may well be tainted.

Given your plans for more accounts, why are you not controlling the IP via way of tethering and/or dongle?

ohhh boy!!! you remind me with someone ( Myself :D ) I was doing the same, doing everything completely right, and still not succeeded :D that was my mistake..
to cut the long story short:
you can list in the same day but!!!:
1- do not start auction or BIN with $0.99 and $10..if you are selling iPhone start with $200 plus.
2- name MUST NOT match the address, so they wont find any records to create history questions.
3- 3 pictures not only 1

try that and let us know if you still unhappy :)

Via laptop at a local cafe.

That is bad - stop using the public IP...it can be that the cafe has blacklisted IP

rama 12-29-2013 11:13 AM

Re: Getting eaten alive by MC999's.

Been discussed before, public IPs could be dangerous. You can easily be linked to other accounts, other account holders are doing this as well.

Remember, they shut you down first , then ask questions

Re: Getting eaten alive by MC999's.

Omgoozle - how many stealths you created and have been past the first 3 or 4 sale mark and have not resulted in a suspension? Several?

Reason I ask, after reading this thread well..you said a coffee shop IP.. For how many stealths on a single ip¿
