Default eBay UK Accounts

Someone on the forum posted the other day that they were only getting 10/£650 item limits. Well today I have sat here since this morning whilst doing other things and created a shed load of accounts.

Only 1 out of the double figure amount was I able to request the 25 items, the rest they wanted me to call in.

Anyone else getting this?

Thanks

Have you been creating the PP accounts to go with them, and all those PP accounts verified?

More than half of them I was able to verify. I tried creating them in different ways AND I also did Personal and Business. Same answer. I'm not trying to cause panic, just relaying my findings.

When you say 'More than half of them I was able to verify' does that mean you were not able to verify half? What bank were you using to verify the PP account?

At the moment I am finding, and have been for weeks, that the 'request higher selling limits' button is not working. It is not enabling me to link my PP and EB. An error page keeps coming up.

It may be that you are experiencing a similar error.

Business accounts are now asking you to call in when you hit the button, personal accounts will let you get a letter in post with a pin to increase the limit.

Generally better to use addresses you have access to.

Lots of mailboxes about for that.

Yeah but putting address on ebay as PO BOX 273 or whatever doesn't look great. Do the boxes come with an address ?

PO Boxes and mailboxes are different thing. Mail boxes tend to have street addresses and names, not numbers.

It doesn't matter when the accounts were made. The problem has been there for several months now.

Read this thread:-

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/uk-ebay...w-account.html

AND

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/uk-ebay...rified-pp.html

It outlines the problem and how to resolve.

Although I have experienced the same errors I still have had no issues getting the 25 item selling limit. All it takes is perserverance.

You can get a "street" address from Mailboxes etc in UK but its not cheap. You can also use a virtual office address like MYUKMAIL.com which is 60 GBP pa.

I use them because I trade from home and dont want my home address on the Internet.

I've never used the request higher limits button - thought it was a no no.

Just list 10 safe items on auction, then I usually have a limit increase for the following month to 30. If not, do again and always by the 3rd month. Then auction upto 30 and a month or two after it goes up to 60 or 100.

All business accounts, vcc verified but no bank account.

vcc verified? The only way to get verified is via a bank account....

The only thing a VCC can do is confirm you account, but that can only be done after a bank account has been used to verify the account.

Do you just mean VCC attached?

Yes.

I meant I'd verified a card (or confirmed - was a poor choice of words lol), but yes the PayPal account is not verified as I don't add a bank account until I start receiving a lot of money and everything is going well.

You're asking for a limitation. PayPal don't put as much trust in your if it isn't verified. Its a fact. I would look at your methods because its not a good long term solution

Long term I add a card and provide docs.

However, new bank accounts are getting thinner and we need a better UK solution (or I need to find out the big secret!)

What big secret?

Always been the suggestion to verify and confirm paypal for the UK.

Back in the day, we only ever used current accounts.

And majority had no issues with paypal....

back in the day

But is it really feasible to keep opening bank accounts?

Be nice to find a good way to withdraw without one, but then again until the accounts verified with a bank account there are lots of limits.
