Should I add an EIN number at this time? New limits raised for me

Just got 2 of my account limits raised to 100/5000, which is awesome. Would never have been able to do it without this forum. Now the question is, should I just add an EIN without Paypal asking for it? Is there a risk in doing this? Will all of a sudden paypal will ask for docs I cannot provide? It would be nice to sell more than my 10 per month on one account and perhaps pass the 200/20000 annual requirement.

I was searching thru about the risks of putting an EIN, but I guess the answers were a little disorganized so I couldn't picture the whole situation. For example, if I register for an EIN and provide it, someone said that paypal can see the real name of the person registered behind that EIN in some public record if they really searched? Is this true? If that's the case, then I could be linked. So what's the point? Is there a way to prevent this completely if it were true? For example, my stealth name is John Smith, and I could use JohnSmith Co. as my business name, but they wouldn't be able to see my real name?

Is there a way to make this not happen? Also the risk of address needing to match issue, I couldn't find a definitive answer to this. Could I still provide paypal my stealth address and register with my EIN and there ought to be no problem?

Do you guys prefer providing an EIN number? Some say it's better just to spread it over 100 accts, like Dmshark did. I'm like thinking, if that's the case, then why are so many people all hyped up to get limits raised? You're just going to be selling your 10/1000 anyways to avoid SSN requests.

Thanks for any info guys and gals.

If you got a stealth account under a variation of your name etc. I would go the EIN route if you plan on treating the account like your kid and making sure you don't do anything funny. I will say however, I would not provide that information until my eBay and PayPal had been established for quite some time. I would also wait quite a while after they asked for it before I provided it.

I still suggest getting lots and lots of stealth accounts for backups going. Like everyone else on this board. You never know when eBay is going to get a wild hair up their but and do a random purge. Always have you main plan. Then be sure to have a sold if the s**t hits the fan plan.
