PayPal logs system time?

I heard that PayPal records system time when you log on, do activity to prevent fraud.

Now if you use the same computer / user, and thus the same "time zone," then you should not have an issue.

But say you move to a different time zone, I heard that it will make you confirm your identity. It is not that bad, just like confirming your full bank number, etc, but it still does.

Does anyone know this for a fact?

But my question still persists.

Both Ebay and Paypal records logon/in time.

Just as a camera captures the time you took a photo/video, eb and pp can see the IPs and the login attempts/locals.

There are different algorithms for the bots to follow as to whether its suspicious or not.

eBay logs everything and anything they can. As far time stamps go....what action they take based on your time zone + what your doing.

Hmm, kinda answers it, but I want to confirm we are talking about the same thing. I am talking about the system time that it logs (the actual windows clock) not the server timestamp when you log in.

It's all about collecting data. I think they know more than we realize.

Thanks greenie.

It definitely shows how much they log (like joesshooze said).. much more than you realize.

A good way to avoid the re-confirmation and such is by keeping cookies in place.

My accounts accessed constantly change time zone (especially for my USA accounts) - from west coast to east coast - without problems so far.
