Reinstate old eBay account?
 

Hello, I have an old account that was created in 2006 with over 1500 feedback at around 99.1%. I'll try to make a Long story short.....used the account quite a bit and sold tons on it. Started a car hauling biz with a friend, was on the road all the time, thought the fees were paid. I finally have time and log back in six months later and it says account has been charged off. I owed about $180 in fees. Got email stating that if I paid fees they'd reinstate the account. It's been about two years ago. Do you think it's worth taking a shot?

Can't hurt to try but if it was charged off that means they sold ur debt to a debt collector, I, sure u probably got tons of calls over the last couple years , so if they really did charge off the debt than you no longer owe eBay but another company now, can't hurt to try, that's a shame such a nice account ruined over $180

Yeah I know :(. I thought the fees were paid and was constantly on the road so didn't check eBay. Actually the funny thing is that I never received any debt collector calls at all. Received an email a few weeks ago stating to pay fees to reinstate account. I've heard they tend to trick people that way and never do reinstate it. It's my debt so I plan to pay it anyway. But if the account would truly be reinstated Id naturally be enticed to pay it much sooner. That's why I've been trying to see what you guys think.

For 180.00 I would pay it and take the shot.

They are known for not following what they say but if the account was only taken down for fees it might be worth the chance.

Make sure you have your user accounts, ips etc lined up.

worth it as buying an account of that age and feedback would cost you a lot more than that

For 180, I would take the shot too - I mean, you used their service...pay the fees.

One thing worth noting: consider if you are linked to other accounts...think about it...are you?

Well the odd thing is I don't think I've been linked. I have another account set up in a family members name (different bank, phone, set up after I moved, different address etc). I never received a limited or "it appears your account is connected with blah blah. I was just checking emails and happened to catch it. Why the email was sent out after such a long time, I have no idea. What scares me about paying the fees right now is that I'm still learning proper stealth. I'm afraid I'll link myself logging in to pay the fees. I actually have an active 40+ FB account created a few years ago that I use now.
