Purchasing mobile phone without ID
 

How do people go about getting phones for verification? I know it's easy to grab an Amaysim pre paid sim from 7/11 but what about the phone? I'd imagine it's best to have an active phone for each account that we create? Do we need to show ID for purchasing mobile phones from places like Big W etc?

I'm not in AU but I assume that even if you have to show some kind of ID to buy a prepaid phone it wouldn't matter if your using the phone for verification.

Prepaid phones usually require you to register the phone to specific area code so all that matters is your register the phone to the stealth address area code.

Even if you show ID, I would assume that the phone company wont share the info with PP. This Amaysim prepaid SIM card requires ID or not? Wasnt clear

No ID needed for Amaysim at point of purchase. Haven't got a phone yet to register it with, but have heard only document reference numbers have to be provided, not actual documents

I guess I'm just trying to be 'ultra-stealth' and not leave an easy link to my real identity. But I guess that's not very realistic when a bank account is involved anyway..

I believe they only ask for a licence number for example, rather than a copy of the actual licence. I don't believe they check that the number entered is legit either, so you could accidentally put in the wrong number and it wouldn't come back with an error

Oh ok, well even if you have to show some type of ID or copy or anything it won't really matter for stealth purposes.

not sure if it is the same in dif countries but always easy to get free sim cards for various networks in the UK. Can just activate the sim, which is often free with no credit required and the sim card can be kept if required
