Ok here is my questions. 3 years ago my son in law and I opened a pp account. We used it just for small non vero stuff. The account is under my son in laws name and my old suspended address from 2005. It has lasted with no problems.

One day he went to make a purchase and use his checking account. They asked him for SS #. He gave it.

He has now given me the account.

Here now is my questions.

If I upgrade this account to a business account and add my EIN and business info to it...Will they 1099 the ein or his old ss#? Can they match ein to ss#?

I suggest that you don't add anything into this account anymore. You can change it to business account if they prompt you to, but if it's working ok for you right now, just don't do anything else.

Save your EIN for your back up account when they asked you for it. There is no point in giving them your EIN when your son already put the SSN into it. That's more than most will do.
