Default Couponing - how to fool them

My wife has started looking at these coupon sites and has discovered some very good deals. And of course, she wants to hoard and stockpile some of this stuff. These sites has you log in and get some info. My first thought is "I can use my stealth techniques with this as well"

So I switch USER ID, IP, log in with a diff email address, and bam... FAIL!!!

I have never spoofed the MAC address, but I believe that is really the last thing it could be. Could I be missing something else? I also do not feel comfy spoofing the MAC address because I do not like messing with settings that I do not understand. Any advice?

first think that struck me was did you clear cookies?

What are you running? What ISP are you using too?
I hear you about spoofing the MAC address too. Bit scary.

Nowt wrong with being wary of spoofing a MAC.....

More than likely LSO cookies might have been 'sitting' there. That's why the sign up failed.

When I play 'those' stealth games, I actually do clear all cookies.

This time I used the following:
New USER ID
Ran CCleaner
Got a Fresh IP address
Registered with a fresh email address
Any other suggestions as to how they are tracking me?

I want to add that this is not a huge ordeal, but I am just curious how to overcome the situation. I find it very intriguing to apply stealth techniques to other little things like this.

That should cover you.. interesting you're still being linked somehow. To test try a different computer or device (smart phone) connected to your wifi and attempt the coupon website again. If you're still being linked it's your IP Address. Your IP range could be linking you. Your IP address may not be changing enough to fool the website.. though that is extreme. Other options is to try a different web browser.. for example instead of Firefox go with Chrome or IE. Unless you're downloading a coupon toolbar, I doubt it has to do with any other computer settings. If you have a coupon toolbar.. it's the toolbar that is tracking you.

If it's a browser plugin or computer app you installed.. you'll need to remove it. It gathers much more about your computer then a browser is able to so it can easily track you.

Have done this before. They actually install something on your browser I believe. As a matter of fact, I think they demanded it. But I remember changing my MAC address and all is well. It's not that difficult. Just use Macmakeup for pc.
