What did I do wrong?
 

I opened an eBay Seller account following eBay Stealth today. I used a Vanilla Visa card with $20 balance, and my friend's address. Just listed one MP3 player for sale on the new account. After two hours, I received an email from eBay:

After reviewing your eBay account, recent activity has raised serious security concerns. As a result, we've taken the following action on your account:
- Your eBay account has been suspended indefinitely.
- Item listings have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.

You won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account. Any outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file.

What did I do wrong? Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you in advance.

Error #1: Using a friends address.
Error #2: You listed an electronics item.

Error #2 is most likely your issue, you can't list electronics to start an account. Also I would suggest you stop using family, friends addresses or info. You just burned your friends address.

Did you used any information that is linked to another suspended account?
Name? Phone number? IP address?

What I immediately noticed for error was

1. You used a vanilla card. Probably the most known prepaid debit out there
2. You Opened a SELLER account the same day it sounds like
3. You immediately listed what is considered to be a high risk item

You need to take time and cultivate any account you wish to become a seller account.

Your #1 is 100% wrong. Vanilla Visa works just fine.

Wrong, Vanilla works.
Every Account I've ever made was made this way....This is not the problem.

Now this is probably what did it but as I pointed out, the OP listed an mp3 player which is considered high risk.

It sounds more like you have been linked by information etc??

I sell what are considered high risk vero items and to be honest as long as I don't sell alot on one new account straight away it's always been ok?

One thing I'm learning thou one rule for one does not necessarily mean one rule for another

a couple things are certain.

your friends address is burned, and so is the account.

as mm pointed out u listed high risk and sure enough you may have been linked from that address in the past. no one here can tell u exactly why u got taken down but its for one of those reasons.

Your account need to age a couple of weeks before listing this kind of item. have some feedback first before planning on selling....hope this help!

Ive sold electronics on new accounts without any issue besides typical MC999 Verify Identity but they were always USED electronics and everytime I called in it was softball questions.

New may be a problem.

I would call them and see what is up.
