MC999 - Restriction received after 1st item - what went wrong?

Hi all,

Thank you for your visit to my thread and for your time. I know this question get asked 1000 times already. However, in my case, it is a bit more unique.

I have been operating a couple of stealth accounts successfully, which I opened on my own. The past 2 accounts that I opened were limited with MC999 immediately after posting the 1st item, which I still can't understand why. Here are the steps I followed:

1. New VPS
2. New bank account
3. Verify Paypal with Bank account prior to listing (not with CC)
4. Listed low risk items (Office Supplies)
5. New (non-existing) address
6. New phone number

Any feedback is welcome. Thank you

Yes need a new windows user account for each.
If you are using a IPAD or Iphone dont use the Ebay app.

Make sure your IP address is different on each account.
What browser are you using?

Yes, a new VPS is basically a new computer with a new IP address and user account. This is bugging me.

Re: MC999 - Restriction received after 1st item - what went wrong?

this

5. New (non-existing) address

could be causing your mc999

I recently created one using a address variation so it doesnt exsist in reality.

triggered a system issue and they banned it from selling. I didnt get mc999 but I have 0 selling limits.

and also how long did you wait til after creation to list your first item?

I wonder if something funky is going on. I had watched items for 5 business days and stayed logged in the whole time to let cookies download prior to posting the first item.

Re: MC999 - Restriction received after 1st item - what went wrong?

Why use a VPS, if your in the US? It's just another unnecessary component your using that may be the cause of your MC9999

The VPS may have nothing to do with it but , much better to just either change your IP by changing themMAC in router settings and resetting , or using a hotspot or USB device

US based users should have little to no need of a VPS. Other internet options make accounts appear 'better'. Have you ever considered them?

2. New bank account
Yes, this is correct.

3. Verify Paypal with Bank account prior to listing (not with CC)
May have been wiser to confirm with a CC to raise limits EXCEPT for no 5 in your plan. I'll expand there.

4. Listed low risk items (Office Supplies)
safer choice & always useful to sell.

5. New (non-existing) address
this flags accounts. gone are the days of non-existent addresses. They fail AVS. Which in turn means you would have troubles confirming & lifting selling limits.

6. New phone number
What type of phone number? GV, for example is giving issues.

I mentioned a couple of things that could be looked at for next time. I hope the info helps.

Re: MC999 - Restriction received after 1st item - what went wrong?

happened to over 50 times past 3 years doing 100ths of stealths

i would say you need a history before you start selling

.

you go in their side first think you do is create a seller account and sell.

flagged

or also vcc and vbb is red flag

past week alone i bought 1 account here with real banking details
cost me like 100 pounds just for paypal alone .

created an ebay account and sold 10 items straight. no issues

bought 6 7 vbb and vcc since i think its cheaper
created like 6 7 accounts after my previous working stealth
since i reach my selling limits on that account
all got suspended like 1 hour after first sale on every single account

used

1. New VPS
2. New bank account using vcc
3. Verified Paypal with both cc and ba on it
4. Listed low risk 1 item.
5. New address real adress
6. New phone number, verified it, bought new simcards

sightttttttttttttttt

Re: MC999 - Restriction received after 1st item - what went wrong?

Thanks all for your advice. I decided to call in to save my stealth account and succeeded. I guess I will just call in from now on. I should have called in to save the other one. Oh well, lesson learned.

Re: MC999 - Restriction received after 1st item - what went wrong?

Yes, this is a new thing they are doing with every NEW selling account. I got hit by this, you will probably find your paypal is also under a 30 day hold as well....

IE, you have to have 5 good transactions and your paypal account has to be 30 days old before they will let you access funds

They are restricting accounts early on as of lately in order to verify - you're correct but well done OP

How else would you run 20-30 accounts if not by VPS and dial-up (or changing your IP address 30 times a day)?

You need to change the IP - this is done by dongles...cellphone tethering...dynamic IP broadband provider (all examples)

Re: MC999 - Restriction received after 1st item - what went wrong?

ebay is 0/0'n a certain cellphone service i use. so i just create by cloning broadband mac, problem is this is a business line and ips dont change often, sometimes takes 10 reboots or more to get an ip never used before.. sucks

If i create the account with the tethered ip it flags it 0/0 and never gets upgrades even after 4-5 months of selling 10 items a month...

Airplane mode has the same effect as a reboot and takes less time.

Precisely. The most accounts I've ever had going without the use of VPS was 4. That was: Static IP (main), cell phone tether, freedomp0p hotspot, and a 3g pay as you go (which I believe is the dongle you're referring to).

At that point, I felt like a superstar being able to run 4 accounts simultaneously. I can't imaging switching between so many dongles/hotspots on a daily basis and now that I've turned a page and find out that some members are running 50, 100, 200 accounts, it really opened a lot of doors for me.

With VPS, I'm able to run 10+ accounts effortlessly. If there's a more efficient and cost effective way you're running your accounts, please share. As far as I'm concerned, as long as the VPS's aren't linked, I've stuck pure 24k gold here.
