About to sell on my stealth account what are the pre cautions
 

I have an item that i will list as an auction. I will start the bid for less than 10 dollars but the value of the item is around 80-70 dollars

will this be a flag for ebay when the item is going up on bids. its a very legit common product but is in great demand.

What kind of item is it? Category?

its a body wash product


but retails for about 80 bucks

yes, I don't think it is risky... start low and keep low profile.

Should I proceed with the item or should I sell some pencils.

Pencils or other less risky items are a better choice

- Long auction time (7 days preferred)
- Low risk category
- Single item listing
- PP fully verified with both CC and Bank Acct before listing
- 3 or more of your OWN pictures in your listing, don't use googled images
- No hyperlinks or HTML in your listing

For pricing - I think .99 with a lot of bids is a good way to draw attention. Is that something a new seller would do? No. Then why do it?

List either at 75% of the item's value, OR I've found that if you list at a ridiculous price, like 150% the item's value and then don't get any bids, you will have less problems. Then when it auto-relists (that button is checked as a default now, so a new person wouldn't uncheck it) you go back and revise the price to 75% of the item value.

New sellers aren't the first people on the block selling sliced bread when its the hottest thing around.

New sellers mess up their pricing, and are cautious.

Body wash would fall under health and beauty and could be considered risky - Omgoozle's advice is decent
