Verizon Jetpack® 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MHS291L

Hi all, I am looking to create some new stealth accounts, but I'm having some difficulty changing my ip address. Does anyone know anything about this product or have experience:

Set Your Location

Does it have a dynamic ip? If it's no good, is there a dongle you recommend? I'm will to pay a little bit more not to have to worry about my ip address with ebay any more.

Thanks for the help.

Works well for dynamic IP

If it does work for dynamic IP... I am going to use this for the next level.

Each time you turn it on, you get a different IP? Will they ever overlap?

Joe, could you please clarify how you are running multiple accounts on it? Is that the nature of hotspots?

I owned an Overdrive Pro and a Freedomp0p hotspot and those IPs never changed for me. Hence, I was only to able to run 1 account on each of those.

Update: received device today and it's AMAZING. IP changes every time I restart and it's decently fast run through wireless. Will have to track data usage to keep track of cost but if anyone is on the fence for a hotspot, so far this one definitely gets my recommendation.

Different devices work different depending on location. No freedom pop for me, however T-Mobile is great, whereas other locations I visit Sprint or Verizon might be better... its all about location.

Freedom p0p doesn't work for me either though their map claims to offer service here but I have used a couple of mobile hotspots that I noticed were a range of I P addys. One provided was a more limited range - it was a prepaid type service and the other had a range that seemed wider but I did notice I Ps repeating on occasion so with st ea lthy type uses you'd have to keep careful track - which of course one should be doing anyway. May have to look at a jet pack since the above seems perfect for the now-needed application.

Do you ever get duplicate IPs or they're always different. It's smart to keep track of the IPs that you're getting just in case the same one pops up again.

Definitely have to look into the jetpack, it sounds promising. I'll give it a go and update here as well.

Freedomp0p has always been a static IP for me(4G) and has never changed once, so I only ran one account with it. The great part about FP is that up to 1GB is free on it, so I never had to pay a dime after the initial purchase.

Any reviews from former or current users of the ATT hotspot devices?

Price is the same-50 bones/month-but 5GB instead of 4GB. Does give you a different IP every time as well? I'll check it out at my local ATT

ATT is a range but is a wider range than straight talk. I do get some repeats on it but am tracking so it isn't a huge deal. Just unplug and plug it back in and good to go again. My prepaid jet pack is set to arrive today so I will let you know how that one works. I still can't get the freedom p0p to connect which is a bummer.

I've been doing a lot of thinking about this topic. You are allotted 4GB monthly data on the Verizon hotspot. That is not nearly enough data to be running 20, let alone 40 accounts.

Let's do the math for a bit:

On average, I use about 50mb per account per day. If I'm running 20 accounts, that's 1GB a day. I'd be blowing through the monthly usage in just 4 days! Let's give it a bit of wiggle room-about 10 days. So you'll need to either purchase a 12GB/$70 plan or take the gamble on the months that you do not go over the monthly usage. BTW, how much does Verizon charge per gig after usage? It doesn't say on Verizon, but ATT does $10/gb so we'll go with that. So we decide we want the 12gb to keep things simple. That's $90/mo (pretax) and $1080 a year.

You might say, "that's not bad for running 20 accounts," but I'm running a VPS for $7/mo, 7x20x12=$1680.

Actually, that's not bad. I reckon that the extra $680 might be worth the less hassle of keeping track of every IP and the constant restarts. Caveat is that the more accounts you have, the more it becomes "worth it."

I'll probably do a hybrid thing with the two so I don't go linking all of my accounts together like a numbnut. So if I run 10 on VPS and 10 on the hotspot, my cost is around 1480 at the 4gb level, which is less than all VPS and spreads the accounts out. At the 12GB level, be prepared to pay $1960/yr. That's actually quite expenso. Well, the less risk you have, the better your business. my 2c :peace:

I spoke too soon - got the Jetpack set up last evening and logged in and out of it a few times - got a repeat IP already. May just be my area but don't take it for granted that they will be different! I track track track them in a spreadsheet and will continue to do so.

Force it to 3G mode only.

Then repeat process.

Re: Verizon Jetpack® 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MHS291L

The above is working great (forcing the MiFi to 3g only) but now I seem to be having issues with BOTH straight talk hotspot and my AT&T Beam device - both are switching IPs WHILE I am logged in. Not something I am familiar with, so far I have been lucky and no overlap but I am nervous...
