| | | evicktd | 06-27-2014 03:54 AM | Changed IP addresses, now this message from ebay Today, I started using a dongle instead of a VPS for several accounts. On many of them, since they're still babies, I haven't sold too much on them and haven't attempted to after changing the IP.
For one of these accounts, I had been in the middle of selling some items. I went to revise a listing and got the message below. Should I just go back to the VPS at this point or any other suggestions? Quote:
"Call us at 1-866-643-1607 and mention security code 2670XXXX012. This is not the same confirmation code to confirm your account.
If you use an IP Relay service, you can use the same number."

As GoteBay said just saying you are visiting. |
| Dmshark25 | 06-27-2014 04:45 PM | Re: Changed IP addresses, now this message from ebay I received this on an account a few days ago , I went to list an item and that message came up, I clicked the eBay icon and left that page,
I logged out and 2 days later decided to deal with that and I listed the item and it went thru, and no other problems
I think it's a glitch |

I think it's a glitch | Oh great another glitch in the system! :(

I think it's a glitch | Did you use two different IPs? I was using one IP in CA all along and then just started using one in NY, which is probably why this came up. I'll log into NY again tomorrow and see what shows up. If it's the same thing, I'll try the old IP.
If the message still comes up, I'll give em a call. Just don't want to deal with the security q's |

Good Luck

I'm happy. Gonna roll with the new IP from now on. If anything changes, I'll update. :juggle: |

I am a US resident from NY, but I do business in China and stay in China for long periods of time. When I began using eBay, we put the listings up from China but I ended up traveling to tons of places. I've probably had my laptop open working in My eBay from over 4 countries and different locations. My eBay comes up in my china office, china apt, ny office, and ny home.
Numerous times it would ask me to call in. I would have to enter my security word to get a text but it would never work, I would then call in, they'll confirm some info with me, possibly call me on the registered phone number.
Its all security checks so I wouldn't worry too much. By the way this was not a stealth account, this was my first account which I was using legitimately and I didn't know how strict ebay was with all this at that time. Knowing what I know now, I would have done things differently but oh well.
