| | | BigMama | 07-04-2014 08:36 PM | Can you start selling on ebay immediately? Does ebay let people sell immediately if you have zero sales or zero buys and just created a stealth account minutes before? Or do you get the message you can't sell zero
Thank you |
Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? You can but you need to make sure your not listing a "High Risk" or "Expensive" items. Also I would recommend going with Auction style bidding. |

I got the message that I can sell zero for this month. Does it sound I got linked? I did all the stealth things and wanted to sell right away and listed one book and got that horrible message. Wondered if it happened to anyone else. I know stealth advices to take it slowly and build a history by buying. Where you or anyone else able to sell right away and was this recent...Maybe ebay is getting tougher.. |
| pr0wake | 07-04-2014 08:56 PM | Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? they are getting tougher. You used to be able to list a low risk item right away no problem.
Now, they are looking for your paypal account to be verified before ANY sales, or else you'll have to call in and complete an identity verification via public records.
This is an obvious problem |

Yes it's a good idea to get some cookies, browsing history before listing. There are people that insist on buying but personally to me, buying feedback doesn't do anything for me....I prefer to get Selling Feedback because in the end, Ebay see's that as to when giving higher selling limits.
Can you list what were your steps in opening your selling account? |

Did you at least lift the $500 paypal limit? |

Did you open a sellers account right off the back or did u open a regular account 1st then convert it to a sellers account? |
| pr0wake | 07-04-2014 09:15 PM | Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? won't the ebay get 0/0 due to no/not-verified paypal?
build your paypal first |

build your paypal first | How do you build a paypal first? Do you mean buy items at first on ebay? Or buy items some place else on the net? Or both |
| pr0wake | 07-04-2014 09:19 PM | Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? build = make a paypal account first. verify it. then sell |
Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? Here is how I make my accounts:
1. Get all the Info (Name, Address)
2. Get my Phone Ready
3. Have the CC/VCC/Gift Card Read
4. Open an Ebay Sellers Account Directly
5. Verify Ebay Phone (4 digit Code)
6. During the same Process.....Ebay will direct me to Paypal
7. Enter CC/VCC/Gift Card Info into Paypal
8. Return to Ebay Automatically
9. Go back to Paypal and finish verifying Paypal (Email, $500 Withdraw Limit, Add VBA) |

| Sandy D | 07-05-2014 03:28 PM | Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? Many, many thread have discussed what to sell and what not to sell on a brand new account.
Used books is not risky unless it is a high priced collectible book. |
| pr0wake | 07-05-2014 04:01 PM | Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? one of my accounts got MC999'ed, 0/0 for listing a used book valued less than $10
reason? according to the rep - the paypal account wasn't verified yet.
this was a week ago |
| Sandy D | 07-05-2014 05:55 PM | Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? Well that will do it.
You always should have a paypal verified before listing anything.
No way would used book cause you issues. I sell them on new accounts every week and never get an mc999. |

This is an obvious problem | It is a problem if sellers go into ebay without having all the boxes ticked to look 'safe' in the eyes of ebay.
days of ebay accepting accounts without financial back-up attached are gone.
ebay are never going to 'carry' such accounts.
I make paypal first. Verify, confirm & use it for off ebay transactions.
I make the ebay account later and attach that paypal.
Never fails.

| exxomscp | 07-05-2014 09:11 PM | Re: Can you start selling on ebay immediately? I've had a mixed bag. Sometimes when I list right away with 10/1000 limits on a low risk item I get an MC999, sometimes I don't.. Listing similar items. There's really no way of telling IMO, so I just prepare and age accounts in advance anyway. If I hit 0/0, it's just because I chose a bad address not in the public database or was linked to someone else. I don't think it has anything to do with Paypal, mainly because eBay can't see things on the Paypal end unless you link them up together. The way I create accounts, I always use VCCs to create and then add banking information later when I've finally locked in a sale..
My instincts say that if you got 0/0 limits and they still ask for a bank verified Paypal, your fate has already been sealed. They just want you to waste information as they'll probably give you another story of why they can't reinstate you down the line.. |

Did you at least lift the $500 paypal limit? | why do you use portable firefox browser?
if i have a new windows user for my new stealth account, I imagine I could use any browser so long as that user is used solely for that stealth account and some browsing to build up some cookies?
but is there any advantage of using the portable firefox browser in my case?
