Need advice badly! Business account with EIN, paypal asking for SSN
 

Hey Guys,

Really need your help, beyond frustrated at this point...I had an account get killed that I had for 10+ years. I have legit business that does roughly 500K in sales a year so having a ton of accounts isn't too feasible. My account got shutdown because I got into accident that prevented me from shipping my orders ASAP. I got shutdown over low DSR even though I had 99.8% feedback.

I formed a new LLC and got a EIN. I opened up a bank account with the EIN and also got debit card. I got a mailbox suite and I am using google voice. I am using my same name as my banned name ( I have common name ). I completely reformatted my computer and changed my IP on my router to completely start fresh....

I signed up an eBay and Paypal account. I signed up the paypal with all my business information including EIN. During the paypal signup they asked for my SSN# in addition. Now whenever I signon to PayPal they are asking me to provide my last 4 digits of SS# and birthdate and address. I can't do that because I am banned...I can bypass it my going to paypal.com but I just don't feel it will last doing that...

I added a credit card to the eBay and I have a 10/1000 limit.

I just applied for a Merchant account with Authorize.net. If I can eliminate some of this nightmare by using a merchant account that would be wonderful. My fear is that eBay is going to ask me for my SS# rather then Paypal ask for it.

I want to build another longterm legit ebay account. My products I sell I manufacture so there is no risk. My only issue I had last time was fact I got injured and being one man operation screwed me (lesson learned).

Any advice?

Paypal doesn't ask for your SS# unless there is something wrong and they are suspicious

Are you sure you created everything link free?

Also besides this problem you need to figure out now, you may want to break up your sales a little over multiple accounts

I know you said you do not want to run too many but if you are receiving 500k a year on one account , there is a high chance paypal will want to know who you are and require a SS# eventually

I just read you added a credit card to eBay , did you add a real credit card that has information that was used from your suspended account??

They're asking for your SSN even with your EIN already supplied? It's a business PayPal account?

Yes everything is new. I signed up on paypal and supplied my EIN. Yes this is a Business eBay and Business Paypal. The LLC is a new name. The card I used is new card. I haven't used any old information other then my name which is very common. The LLC name, Address, Phone (Google Voice), IP have all been changed. I am completely reformatted no so chance of any tracking etc.

In the paypal signup, it ask for EIN etc. Then it said "patriot act" personal information verification. I exited the signup process. Now whenever I signon to paypal this landing page shows up. The only way to get into the account is to manually type in paypal.com in the browser.

That's not good. I agree with Dmshark.. it looks like a soft link.

You say you used a "new" credit card.. this wasn't a virtual credit card but an actual real credit card from a bank?

Also what did you do RIGHT before you started seeing this message.. maybe you did something different.. or has it been like this for awhile?

I signed up the paypal account. I didn't even add anything to it yet other then business name and address/phone. It began asking for my SS# and I stopped.

I started to think I could just forget paypal and go the merchant route.

I was on eBay so I added a credit card I had to make a seller account which is brand new. I was going to hook up a authorize.net and completely phase out paypal.

I don't know what to do at this point, panicking...

You made some kind of link.

I'm not sure how or if u can save this account but there are many things you can do for the next.

Don't ever link real credit or debit cards to paypal , there is no need for this, just get a visa vanilla card and add that or use Entropay and make a VCC, that way you will be a 100% certain there is no link do to a card

Entropay is great because you can add you real debit or credit to Entropay and than create virtual credit cards that you can always add funds to and the card will always protect your real information

Hold on to your EIN number in the future until they ask you for it, the first 3 months is a probation period,

So the first 90 days you won't be making money but prepping the account and getting it ready

If you get passed the 90 day point than start making money paypal will ask you to provide an EIN when it is needed. And as long as it is ready your business shouldn't be interrupted

But if u use it from the beginning you don't know if the account will even make it and you can end up burning it

There is a lot to learn and you won't get it right from the beginning and it takes time to get accounts ready to sell on, if you rush with eBay u won't make it

I just don't understand how I could have been linked. I literally spent so much time prepping for this trying to cover every base. I am beyond frustrated now!

All the information is new. The only same thing was my name. I even reformatted my computers. I changed the IP address...

I just don't get it, just spent all that time and money on forming LLC...

All you need to do on your PC to make it safe is create a new user account, and you will have a fresh start nothing that will link you in terms of cookies.

And if you wanted to make 5 stealth accounts you don't need to do anything on your PC except create 5 user accounts

Never use a real debit or credit card

And never give your EIN until asked for it, there is no added benefit to adding it from the start

When opening paypal just add a bank account and a virtual credit card or visa vanilla

Phone, I use text+ app some use prepaid phones

I didn't even add the credit card to paypal or ebay before getting the message.

I signed up for ebay with just name/information. Then onto paypal. After I typed in all Business info that's when it asked for personal information.

I didn't add the credit card until after I got notification from paypal. I added the card to ebay not paypal. As of right now the paypal doesn't have any information other then EIN info.

Just doesn't make sense to me. My computer literally was completely wiped out, fresh install of windows and all. I wanted to ensure there was no risk of cookies or tracking.

If I don't use paypal and use an authorize.net merchant. Do you think I can still salvage the account?

Maybe. But I can tell you from experience that many buyers don't want to deal with you if you do not accept PayPal. They have been brainwashed into thinking that it is the only safe way to pay.

I recommend spreading sales over at least 10 accounts. I also recommend starting your own website (if you have not done so already) and let your previous customers know about it, especially if you get repeat business.

Lastly, I can also say from experience (I have health issues) that you should always have someone who can step in and fill orders for you and keep things running if necessary. I never thought about that until it was an issue, but I have always had a business partner, so it didn't hurt me financially. But it could have been a disaster for me.

There are a few thing I don't like specifically. Just my personal opinion.

1.Google Voice possibly recycled? Making so much money tracphone would have been better
2. Using same name. Yes common name, but ebay don't care
3. Doing too much as a rookie. Most starters don't add EIN and business account from beginning. Baby steps

EIN, Merchant accounts these are things beginners would not do

I don't think it is the card issue. Because I have the same problem, I form a LLC for new business paypal account, new computer , new internet service, new prepaid ATT phone number, new UPS BOX address.

But when I sign up for business Paypal account with my LLC information. I don't use my real name for contact person, I use the my LLC name without LLC as my contact person name (my LLC name looks like a person's name + LLC).

I don't link bank account and card yet, just for sign up with business information, it requested me for a person's SSN. :(

Re-using your own name and a real bak credit card are factors.

Never attach an EIN or SSN to a fresh Paypal account.

Ideally close to 200/20k, last minute.

I didnt realize this post was going on when I posted up a tip yesterday on how to get around this ssn msg after logging in. Its not a gurantee fix but as I see it, its a way to get around it. Not sure how this affects the future of these accounts.

It helped me get around the ssn message that pops up everytime I log in. It happened on 3 accounts I created yesterday. I haven't taken time to figure out what I did different this time, but I definitely changed a few things from what I normally do.
