Alternate for those getting 0/0

Re: Alternate for those getting 0/0

Copy and paste post from bjammin above.

Today I had created 3 accounts. The First 2 went pretty smooth. Both were given 10/1000. The 3rd was set up the same way, but got 0/0. There was no MC999 listed. The account was just given 0/0 limits. Well I got around that without calling in.

A fore note on how I set my accounts up.
set up gmail account
get vanilla visa or similar gift card
have bank acct ready (i do not use VBAs)
new user acct on computer
fresh ip
fresh phone number

I set my PP up first. I go through all the preliminaries of my accont info (name, address, phone number). Then I give my bank account info. Then I add my vanilla visa. Next, I add my security questions. After that I go to view my limits, and I have PP confirm my vanilla visa. I then confirm my code that they sent with the 1.95 charge on my vanilla visa. And I think that pretty much wraps up my PP until I confirm my bank micro deposits.

Next I set up my EB acct. I give them all my stealth info, then I go to customer service and type something like "create seller's account" It usually brings up something that says Create Seller Account. I hit that, and I click on another link that says Set Up Seller Account Now (or something similar). At this point it is asking me for a phone number that they will call or text with a pin number. After entering the pin number,it takes me to a page to list an item. I never list off this page. Instead I hover over the my EB tab and I go down to selling. This now tells me my selling limits.

Thats it in a nutshell

Now how I fixed my 0/0 account:
I had gone back to PP and added another email address, confirmed it, and made it primary.
Then I deleted my user account and all files.
Re-created a new user account and got a fresh IP
Opened a new EB acct with the new PP email, a diff address, and a diff email
EB sent the PIN to the new phone number
Went to selling limits and now had 10/1000 limits without wasting my bank account or vanilla visa card

I am sure there is an easier way according to others on here. But I do not like using VBAs and I did not want to waste my vanilla card nor bank account. I wanted to post this in case other members had the 0/0 issue and wanted a way around it w/o wasting their resources.

Hope it is helpful to the forum.

That's nifty.. good luck with the account.. I wonder how long it will last.

Keep us updated.

Re: Alternate for those getting 0/0

Thank you.

I had done this (or something similar) to another account, and I wasn't sure if it was gonna survive or not. After making the alterations on that first account, I left it alone. I posted something last week for the first time and got limit increase (30/3000) the next day. I sure there was no rhyme or reason, just EB logic.

If i understand this right you are effectively creating 2 ebay accounts against the 1 paypal account right?

Except he is relying on all that info being deleted.

Test will be if it stays viable.

I usually get a pre-paid drop phone from walgreens. It is not the cheapest way, but it has been worth it to me. Some ppl also use text/phone apps, but I do not know much about those.

I am taking my 1 PP account = 2 email address.
1 email address = 1 EB acct.

My reasoning is that EB is gonna link to PP by email, so why not just create a new email instead of a whole new PP. PP seems to allow you to add as many emails as you want.

Yes but you had a 1 x ebay with zero limits on a paypal and then you changed the email on that paypal and made ANOTHER ebay account which means you still have a link with 1 paypal and 2 ebay accounts attached to it?!

Since EB and PP claim to be separate and non-sharing, this will definitely be a test to see if they are lying or not. Realistically, unless they share info between the 2 companies, then they can't link me.

If it links then the vanilla and bank are toast. But they was toast if I had just given up after the 0/0 limit. So I haven't lost anything that wasn't already lost. Instead, I took something that should have been dead and revived it...for now!

Either way, nothing to lose but time, and a viable account to gain!

From research, each ebay and paypal account has a token which is a long string of characters. You can think of them as identification numbers. When you link accounts, you're linking by ID numbers, not by usernames or email address. This is also true if you link an auctiva account with an ebay account. They use these tokens to communicate with each others server. So even though you changed the email account, it has the same identification number. So the real question is, is the closed ebay account token still connected with the paypal token? And if it is, will they count that against you?

I have an ebay and paypal developers account, so I'm able to see my tokens. Here are some examples:

Re: Alternate for those getting 0/0

I see what yall are saying, and I am not disagreeing. But why did they allow the second EB acct to have 10/1000 limits? And this is the second time I have done this. The first account I did this to, they actually already increased my limits from 10/1000 to 30/3000.

But if everyone thinks this is gonna fail, then maybe remove the thread so I am not setting ppl up for failure. Thats def not what I want to happen.

If people decide to do this, they should realize there is a risk/reward. On one hand, its nice not to have to waste a VCC and VBA. On the other hand, you can possibly be linked down the road and end up with 0/0 limits anyways.

Don't know if this should be deleted, maybe just need to inform people about the risk/reward.

Re: Alternate for those getting 0/0

Seems like a good alt. Doesn't really matter 2 ebays + 1 paypal. The first ebay will never go down since it's not being used. Lots of people use 2 ebays at the same time. Just don't know if it's long term.

Re: Alternate for those getting 0/0

I've done this and never had it work out well in the long term.

The 2nd account will be good for up to 6-8 months, depending on category and/or selling methodology, but if you start making any real money that would ever prompt a manual review you're toast.

Oddly, I've also found that allowing this account to go dormant for an extended amount of time (8+ months) will also cause it to go down.

The only way I've kept an account like this open for more than a year is to sell less than half what I normally would.

Re: Alternate for those getting 0/0

The first and second account will be link cause it contain the same information. But the first account is not suspended, it just have 0/0 limit. You can safely close the 1st account.

Re: Alternate for those getting 0/0

hmm. the difference here would be reusing the PP for just a 0/0 account, which is fairly new, right? Reusing any info from a suspended account would surely lead to it also getting suspended/selling privileges gone... but this 0/0 off the bat is like a failsafe from ebays computer

seems like this may save some accounts. I had 3 get 0/0 today. 2 on GV, 1 on Tracfone.
