Running Multiple Account with Cable Internet

Here I share the way I get new IP address using Cable Internet and running multiple account on one PC and one user account.

If you have better way please share

Again, This thread just apply to people who using Cable Internet only. Suddenlink is what I have.

I have a cheapest cable plan, less than $30/month and bought my own modem on eBay for less than $30. I prefer the Netgear CG814xxxx model because it have 4 RJ45 port so you can have 4 different PC connect at the same time and get 4 different IP address. Just search "Haxoware Netgear" on eBay you will find it.

I'm not using a router or wireless router. Just connect direct from PC to the modem. This way, when I need a new IP I just change the MAC on that PC.

1 Connection = 4 Output = 4 IP at the same time is good enough for me. I always can get more IP by running multiple VMware if I needed to.

I'm running multiple account with 1 user account but using FireFox Portable. Make 1 folder for each account and rename to folder name. Created shortcut for all of them on the Desktop (Account 1, Account 2.........)

I use TMAC Changer V5 to change MAC address

First time run the software
https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...53147528_n.jpg

Click on the "Change MAC" button
https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...53147528_n.jpg

Click on "Random MAC Address" button
https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...62329522_n.jpg

Click "Change Now" button
https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...0e&oe=5435E416

Click "Create/Edit" button
https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...45905777_n.jpg

Check "MAC Address", "Enable DHCP" check box. Select "Use" option and enter the name you want in the "Preset Name" field and "Save" it
https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...27097726_n.jpg

Add as many account/MAC as you want. Next time if you want to change your MAC to get new IP. Just select the account you want from the drop down list

Hit me up if you have any question about this method.

Thank You TonyAlmeida! :)

I Love it when members contribute like this.

It takes time and effort to have a quality thread, but it has huge benefits for the forum as a whole.

Hey TonyAlmeida how much of bump in speed did u get? I'm on Comcast with 10mb/s and was thinking of getting SB5101 to test the speed.

Oh, why don't you buy the Netgear as I mention. It always a better modem than the SB5101

The way I understood, haxoware was specifically written for sb5101 and netgear with haxoware is pron to errors. I only have one comp for all eBs and AZs and need only one port.
Plus I was gonna buy one of eB, I don't wanna deal with jtags etc, but then it seams that forums at haxoware and sbhack are full of nerdy douchebags that will chase you away if you ass wrong or nooby questions.

Did you buy urs or u flashed it urself?

TonyAlmeida 08-10-2014 05:07 PM

Re: Running Multiple Account with Cable Internet

It is up to you bro. When you buy the haxoware modem you don't need jtag it. Haxoware = premod. I have been using couple years and all my friend does. Never get any error with it.

What error are you talking about here?

Artann 08-10-2014 05:32 PM

Re: Running Multiple Account with Cable Internet

Yeah thats what I meant. I wanna buy one of eB and don't want to jtag it. As far as errors, from what I've read that there is a problem with crashing especially when downloading torrents and something about not being able to setup root username and password.

Was your modem plug and play or you had to perform voodoo to make it work with your ISP?

That doesn't appear to be the case right now.

Haxoware appears to be a blocked search result on eBay.

Wow, It's still searchable when I created this thread.

Admin and Mod, if you think this post will harm us in some way. Please edit if needed.

Thanks

I won't brought it up in the first place if there is an error, something wrong with it.

I think I need to stop talking about the haxoware in this thread now cause eBay do something about it. You are welcome to PM me if you have any question.

Re: Running Multiple Account with Cable Internet

So.. you can get 4 different IPs at the same time from this modem? Really? I didn't think that was possible. Is it because it's a modded modem?

TonyAlmeida 08-10-2014 06:39 PM

Re: Running Multiple Account with Cable Internet

I really don't know boss. I don't have the one that un-mod to try out. I asking around with some network expert people and everyone said that is impossible. But that I got for years.

I also talked to 1 of my friend who work for the ISP company. And he said the same. He also think maybe because of the mod modem and tell me to keep my mouth shut :)

I just tried haxoware search on eB and it's all there. There is like 45 listings fro sale right now.

Tony had it misspelled with Haxoware

The correct spelling appears to be Haxorware and eBay currently has 49 listings with 6 of those being Netgear.

Defaulted to hardware 1st time.

Bluidy ebay

TGMT² is correct on spelling.

We all got different results searching for the same thing. eB is amazing lol

Awesome, I will try a Motorolla with Haxorware loaded to replace my cable modem.

Try the Netgear. It's better. More RAM and more out put

Re: Running Multiple Account with Cable Internet

I would love to try Netgear because I don't have to worry about double reboot. I am not sure if eBay is selling them anymore. I will give it a try.

You can easily spoof your LAN card's MAC address without needing external programs.
Just go to Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings > Right click on your LAN Card and click properties > press the Configure Button > Advanced tab > Locally Administered Address

There will be a box on the right with the word "Value" above it. Enter any valid MAC address string here and this will be what your cable modem sees.

Try installing the latest drivers directly from Intel's website.
The drivers provided by manufacturers generally have a lot more features (or bloatware) than the ones automatically provided by windows.

Re: Running Multiple Account with Cable Internet

sorry to bring up this old topic but I was looking at the Netgear modem Tony stated and it looks to me that the '4-port' are Switch ports which I assumed it has an internal DHCP/LAN of ip address of 192.168.x.x.. so if you connect your computers to those 4 ports you would get the 'private IP' of 192.168.x.x and not the public IP from comcast. so let say if you have 2 computers connected to that modem and running at the same time, both computers are actually using the same Public IP. because I don't think it's possible to get 4 complete public IP from comcast on 1 account

It is possible to get 4 completely different IP's but they would be "Static" which would cost a lot more money. In the traditional sense whatever the Public IP is for 1 machine will also be for all those connected to the same Modem.

There are other more effective methods such as:
1. Mifi's/Dongles
2. Tethering
3. Dial-up

maybe because you have a wireless router. you computer need to be connect directly to the cable modem for this to work

Re: Running Multiple Account with Cable Internet

PROBLEMATIC ISP is Xfinity modem/router combo, Comcast router.modem combo, ATT Uverse and Verizon Fios.

- Are you using Cable Internet?
- What is your provider?
- How did you used all 6 different IPs? at the same time?
- How do you know you only have 6 IP?
