Please check me over before go live selling

Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who makes this site what it is. You really have been invaluable in terms of info and helpfulness.

Ok so firstly I have had a couple of points to say an inherited accounts not the way to go, however I can get off to a much better start this way because:

Its 6 years old
Its already a seller account and paypal is already a business account
It has about 25 positive seller feedback
It has a 100 item limit

In addition I will be making multiple backup accounts and also buying one to have staggered ages on the accounts.

I have

Read the stealth guide... lots
Got a new IP address
Deleted all cookies and flash cookies from computer just in case but also have a fresh user account specific for the new account
Taken new photos with different backgrounds
I will be changing all wording on adverts etc

Some questions to ask before I start listing again:

1. I sell just one item and have LOTS of stock. The account I just lost of 18 months was a top rated seller account. It has not been limited in any way, however I have left this behind totally and will never go back. It was the paypal which was limited due to a link with my banned one. My question is, as the ebay account hasnt been killed by them will it be less under the radar their end in terms of adverts etc as it is only my paypal which got shut down? In fact, I actually had to physically close my shop and adverts as I was still selling loads but people couldnt pay!

2. With a 100 item limit with 1 item of about 20 variations, would you recommend to just list say, 50 to start with on various different single adverts to be different? My previous account was 1 buy it now advert with 20 variations which i would constantly top up. I want to eventually have it like this, but would it be wise to stay clear and just list some 30 days single item ads first?

3. How long is a wise time before I should look at lifting the limits on paypal? Can I get it out of the way now, or would it be better to wait until it was say 3/4 to its limit and lift them reactively as a new guy would?

4. The account is an aged seller account. Will it raise flags if I change the email on this or the paypal one at any point? I am planning to wait at least a month on this.

I know you can never be too paranoid, but if i have correctly burned all history, to ebay it would surely just look like a guy, with an old seller account who one day decided to open a shop and start selling stuff right? Or am I being naive?

Essentially, I was a careless idiot who didnt read the guides but skimmed over bits and bobs online. I didnt clear flash cookies etc from my computer and didnt use a different user account. I also used the app! I'm surprised I lasted 18 months! When I spoke to paypal they said something like

"It has linked you for using a computer that a previously suspended account used, so maybe a flatmate or family member"

I told them that we share an unrestricted computer at work for lunch time so it could be anyone. Whats confusing was they guy said "to be fair it hasnt been for about 6 months so it might be a mistake" They still denied the appeal though lol

Re: Please check me over before go live selling

#1 totally depends on item risk category but you say it was a successful item but again might have been ok based on strength of account.
#2 start slow 50 items like right now on an account with old or low sales history could raise flags
#3 cant answer that I cant see flags I use tapatalk
#4 if you can avoid changing information avoid it period, if you have to change it wait as long as possible and an extra day

Confirm you are intending to add another paypal to an existing purchased/acquired account?

This may not pan out. Please supply more info.

I would avoid changing every much at all for some time .

What is happening about the bank account now attached to this?

You are running a risk of being flagged

:argue:

Thanks for the reply, these direct responses are really helping points which I am concerned about. To answer, It has just had a new saver account of my own added and verified for funds to be sent to. in around a month I will add a vcc for the card as it currently still has the old card of my mates, which he is fine with.

Ok so in all since inheriting the accounts and logging in 4 days ago I have done nothing regarding passwords etc all I have done is:

new computer (user account) and IP on their records
Browsing ebay lots including help pages to build up cookies on user account
converted to business account on ebay (paypal already was one)
listed 3 single items from my 100 limit of low value (one which has sold)

I want to open a shop ideally, should I wait on this?

I wont change or anything other than that for a while now, but do you think I am ok so far? How many items would you say I could list out of my 100 limit without it being too much? I ask as with my first legit account I was always listing max, as did I with my last account.

How much and how fast to sell really is a decision you must take on your own.

For what its worth, my personal view is that selling limits were brought in for a reason, ie to control how much sellers can list. EBay are saying they trust you to sell 100 items a month so I'd list 100 items.

To stand the best chance of getting further selling limit increases you need to maximise existing limits.

The biggest single risk is that you carry out too high a risk activity on a user account that does not have cookies established. It is usually this that triggers phone verification and security checks etc. You have passed this part. Opening a shop is not going to "flag" you. It is normal activity for a business seller.

Awesome, this is what I thought, as when i first started sellling on my own name account i was listing maxes all the time from day 1 of being a business seller. Same went for my last account and that actually got my to 400 naturally in about 4 months. So the cookie data is key, got it. Just ebay data or do they need general browsing data on other websites? (sorry for ignorance)

Ebay & paypal cookies are important.

ebay like to see 'your cookies'.

We suggest you make a user account & have your cookies there for each sign into ebay/paypal.

Both companies 'look' for this when an account is used. They help ID you.

So you are saying it would be good practice then to spend several days going onto various websites on that user account?

Your main concerns are paypal/ebay in terms of their being able to 'know' you are the same seller.

Luckily,(at this point), neither company shares info with outsiders.

Other sites are of no concern to eB so just log onto eB and browse and bid

I would NOT recommend listing 1 item with variations... from personal experience listing single items and waiting until they have sold is far better on new accounts.
