| WJC05 | 08-12-2014 08:02 AM | Firefox Portable?? Been reading through the forums and want someone to check me and make sure Im correct. I can take a USB Drive, make different folders for each account. Install FF Portable to each folder and use those instead of changing user accounts in windows everytime, just have to make sure the IP addresses are straight. This also means I can take this thumb drive to any computer and access my accounts?
Thats what I understand, is this correct? |
| TonyAlmeida | 08-12-2014 08:07 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? There is already another thread for that just in this folder. No need to created a new thread |
| pr0wake | 08-12-2014 08:28 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? that is correct though, WJC05
You just have to be very careful as to not forget to change your IP address between switching account browsers! |
Re: Firefox Portable?? Few posts by MM78 about this too - very efficient |
| glacier922 | 08-13-2014 06:39 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? Now it's like what am I going to do with the 50 or so user accounts that I have now! |
Re: Firefox Portable?? Haven't tried it as yet, i've been a little scared :) |
| glacier922 | 08-13-2014 07:55 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? Does anyone know the thread on how to create more accts with portable Firefox? I guess all the info is scattered throughout the forums, but not all coalesced.
Am I getting this right?
1. Have one folder on the desktop on one user account.
2. Within that one folder of that user account, have a sub folder, each with Firefox portable installed, rename that sub folder to whatever your ebay stealth screen name is.
3. Change ip accordingly to your corresponding stealth account.
4. Close all Firefox browser before you open the actual stealth that you want.
5. Login to your stealth account.
Am I missing something here? From here on out, all cookies will be placed on each of those sub folders right? And for each stealth you can have a mixture of addons, fonts, etc to change up the browser finger print right? Thanks for any help. |
| aspkin | 08-13-2014 09:13 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? That's pretty much it.
Everything is self-contained within the Firefox installation (within the folder). That's what makes it cool. As far as browser fingerprinting, it's not an issue with eBay/Paypal. |
| glacier922 | 08-13-2014 09:28 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? @aspkin
What about logging out of a stealth account, closing that browser and opening another stealth account with Firefox portable?
I read that somewhere here on the forums. I normally never log off of my accounts when I use the old seperate user account method. I'm afraid it might cause a link if you don't log off of your ff portable browser. Anyone confirm this? Is this normal practice amongst you guys who do the ff portable route? I'm normally pretty paranoid. Lol |
Re: Firefox Portable?? Here is how I do this:
1. Log into Stealth Account A with Portable Firefox
2. Close/Exit Portable Firefox from Account A
3. Switch IPs, Log new IP
4. Open Account B Portable Firefox
5. Repeat
For those who already have cookies from your Regular Firefox...they can be transferred to Portable, The file is called "cookies.sqlite"
Here are OTHER Portable Browsers that can be used...not just Firefox: Internet | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives |
| glacier922 | 08-13-2014 10:57 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? Thank you mm78 for clarifying. So this is how you guys switch so many accounts. I was wondering how you guys could switch so many user accounts. That lag from the scroll bar takes like a couple of minutes alone just to scroll. Before you know it, it takes like 5-7 minutes just to switch accts. whew!
And the more accounts you add, the slower that lag is. |
Re: Firefox Portable?? That's exactly why I went with Portable Browsers Glacier922.....I personally got tired of switching between accounts, switching to the wrong account, heck....id forget which to switch too!
Also, if people want to switch it up they can use the other browsers for different accounts......lots of possibilities. |
| pr0wake | 08-14-2014 02:10 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? ive fallen in love with this method! |

| Callidus | 08-14-2014 08:11 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? When closing the Firefox portable down after I have finished with it, do I need to close the process in CTRL ALT DELETE? As after I shut the window down it shows its still running in processes? |
| GhostWhoWalks | 08-14-2014 08:34 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? Yeah when I seen this I was thinking just by reading the title "MM78" lol
But yeah I will start doing this also better then paying for 45 VPS servers just got to find the right Mifi here in Canada for my area!
Then it's golden! |

What do you think about
Links Portable - text-based browser
Lynx Portable - text-based browser
If you are using a mifi and only got like 6GB per month of transfer. Do you think that would pass as well? |

| GhostWhoWalks | 08-14-2014 11:34 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? I just used the firefox app and it's like 90 MB total with it's folders is this correct?
Looks like I'll need a memory stick of 4GB for all my stealths + the info for each account. |
Re: Firefox Portable?? Can always go with a 16GB, just in case..... |
| GhostWhoWalks | 08-14-2014 11:55 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? Yeah I mean I can use a hard drive also right? I got 2 x 500GB laying around and also 2TB laying around with my movies. I'd stay at the same location with it all.
It's really amazing MM how you can just learn so much with other things with technology on these things man! JUST WOW.
I wonder if they got a memory stick that has a button or a switch to format everything within 1 split second now that be cool. Just don't touch that button! |

Looks like I'll need a memory stick of 4GB for all my stealths + the info for each account. | I have a 500 gb hdd. 80 mb per stealth ff portable install you can get, about say, 11 accts per gb. 500 x 11 is 5500 accts. of course you got your operating system so say you have 450gb space. That's like 4950 accounts. 500 gb is only 40 bucks nowadays. Shouldn't be too. Uh of a problem. |

Btw, do you recommend a decent encryption software for sticks? |

Dont underestimate yourself.

| GreenBean | 08-18-2014 06:41 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? How about making this a sticky?
It's very innovative for stealth.

| GhostWhoWalks | 08-18-2014 09:59 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? Question why would the data need to be encrypt? Do you guys mean with passport protected? |
| pr0wake | 08-18-2014 11:18 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? passport, no. Password, yes! |
| GhostWhoWalks | 08-18-2014 11:23 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? So it's just to add a password on the memory stick it's all? |
| fox20c | 08-18-2014 02:17 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? Kinda like having a login and encrypting your laptop in case it get stolen or lost. Same idea but just on a stick/drive. Gives me peace of mind. |
| GhostWhoWalks | 08-18-2014 02:30 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? I see I think I'd leave it on my laptop it never leaves my place + we got security in this building but you are right.
What is a good encryption then? :) |
| fox20c | 08-21-2014 11:34 AM | Re: Firefox Portable?? For software my company uses TrueCrypt and BitLocker. But I would rather by a flash drive that comes with the encryption already in place.
Here is where I would start Newegg.com - encrypted flash drive |

Only if MM will approve of it! Then I'd probably get that. That looks very sweet! |
Re: Firefox Portable?? It never hurts to have the maximum amount of protection, especially if you use the flashdrive on the go. Personally, I might look into one myself. The last thing we need is to be losing the flashdrive and someone finding it and accessing your accounts, data, etc. |

Do these devices come with this type of protection or it's a software we got to get? I read once there are flash drives that come with this built in. |
| fox20c | 08-21-2014 02:41 PM | Re: Firefox Portable?? Most of the ones I have been looking in to its already installed on the drive. One even has a physical number pad on the outside of the drive so you can unlock it that way. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:50 PM. | |
