Why can't i link my bank account on paypal?

Everytime i put the routing number and the account number, it always says the routing the number is invalid, when i'm putting the correct routing number.

What routing number did you enter, and for what bank?

Routing numberes are not unique, don't worry.

The one on the cheque, it's wells fargo. Should i just add another bank account? I have another checking but its debit card is linked to my original paypal. Is it risky or not?

Wish I knew about this last week. Good info on Well Fargo routing #'s. I am wondering if this was my problem about 2 weeks ago. Paypal sent me an email saying they could not make the 2 deposits because the bank does not recognize the account number. I have since linked a different bank.

I am assuming that since I already tried to use that account with Paypal that I could not try it again (if it was a routing number issue)?
