Cannot add bank account to PayPal
 

USA PayPal

I have a VBA on one of my accounts. When I wanted to add a real bank account, PayPal asked me to verify my phone number.

PayPal is unable text, cannot call cellphone, I get the message, 'This number is not registered in your name'.

I called PayPal and they wanted to verify my identity and of course a unique stealth, so failed. The rep asked me to use a friend's landline.

I then get a landline number, but again PayPal cannot call me. It comes back with same message, 'This number is not registered to your name'.

Anybody experience this before?

Just to clarify, did this account ever have a working phone attached to it from the time it was made?

Yes, but had a typo and when this verify thing came up, I corrected number, but had no chance.

I have never had this verification on any of my accounts.

I am tempted to remove the VBA and see if they will allow me to add another one.

Um, wait for others to reply but I would not do that.

From what I read, removing any type of bank account might make more issues.

So really, this is a reaction from paypal after a typo with the phone number issue?

I honestly doubt the reaction. The fact is that the number was a cellphone format.

When I called PayPal, the rep said, their system cannot neither send texts or call cellphones.

Or the rep simply had no idea what to do.

USA based, she was honestly good. She wanted to add the bank account if she was able to verify my identity using a database.

Of course that failed and she gave me an option of using a friend's landline to temporarily verify account.

At least she did not ask me to send docs for verification.

I don't know if this is the same or even a similar issue, but I faintly remember having a similar problem once or twice when I was much newer to stealth. On the screen where it wants you to verify the phone, does it have a button that says cancel? I remember clicking that, and it took me to a very similar screen but with slightly different options. And on that 2nd screen, it let me receive a text from the prepaid phone I had on file.

It had two options, either a text or phone call. Neither worked for me.

If I cannot remove that VBA and add a bank account, I will have to find other means of getting the money out.

I am not sure if this bank account I was trying to add is done or can be used on another account.

Who do I have to talk to to be able to post the solution to this problem. Everytime I post it it gets deleted.

It's done. You can't use it for another account.

I looked at your post history and none of your posts were removed in the last month. One was removed for being off topic and that was it.

Work around adding bank account.

Works 1000% Tried on both good and limited paypals

THIS IS ALL AUTOMATED YOU ARE TALKING TO PP ROBOT

First login to your pp

Click contact us to generate one time pass code

Call 1-888-221-1161

From number registered with pp

If you don't have access to number use any non linked number

When you call pp from number that isn't registered pp will say

I see you are calling from 1800 aspkin.com should I use this number to lookup

your pp account.

Say NO

Tell them the registered number

pp will ask for one time pass code

pp will ask if you want to link non linked number to pp say NO

pp will say how can I help you

say add bank

pp checking or saving

then will ask for routing and account number

if it says done then it will add it to your account instantly! ( if you are logged in you can click to see while being on the phone)

If it says it has a problem and transferring you to a agent you have a different problem with your account.


Test it out and please post back. I know it works 1000% I figure out a lot of stuff through my own trial and error and don't mind sharing.

@miketyson, I would like to thank you very much for the solution.

It worked like a charm. Bank account added and deposits sent. Robot added the account without any problem very fast.
