TRS without post tracking possible?
 

So on my previous account I got TRS and had until the paypal got shut down after being linked with my original.

I have never given a tracking reference on any item I have ever sent due to using a franking machine and the items being very low value. If it gets 'lost' in the post I just resend.

Am I right that with the new rules you have to have tracking references in order to get top rated? If this is the case that means I will never get it sadly :(

Can anyone clear this part of it up for me?

Yes as I understand it you are right on that they seem to going all for this tracking thing now which as you point out is pointless and a waste for anyone selling items that are lower value and can't help but think they are shooting themselves in the foot by starting to alienate people selling in that price range which must have been quite a large part of ebays market

hmmm... under seller status/dashboard going for TRS just seems to require certain number and amount of transactions as well as meeting certain DSR thresholds and making sure defect rate/cases are minimal... no mention of tracking? what if standard post (1st class royal mail without signed for) is used, how do you give tracking? are you forced to now send recorded? if that is the case I doubt iphone cases on ebay will be 99p anymore.

This is my issue. I do same day first class post but I'll be f***ed if I am sending tracking info for £3 items!

1st class recorded is about £2.34 alone I think + ebay fees + paypal fees... Best thing to do here is sell at a loss because the chinese sellers on ebay will still sell for 99p and screw you over. The millions of items coming out of china, yet they dont have these spike in postage prices, yet in the UK the most minuscule spikes in sales and the company decides its time for a price rise!

Have to re-evaluate HOw much you can sell at a loss before you lose it all...

Ive been having this issue too

I sell items that are ~$5 USD and back in the day I did everything with a .42 stamp and if it was lost I just re-sent it.

But now, I do everything with tracking. I find it's one of the only ways my accounts don't get screwed.

I'm a TRS and I never use tracking delivery but I do get postage of proof from the post office
