What kind cables are we talking about? iphone cables or some branded cable?
How many cables are you listing as soon as you start selling? |

i sell regular iPhone/Galaxy cable, no brand...
and i listing 10 cables as i start selling. |
| ilcarletto | 10-08-2014 09:21 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! iPhone/Galaxy cables ARE branded.
Very risky items!
Were you listing the same item before? |
| nicoleleeli | 10-08-2014 09:24 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! well i been trying to make new accounts and i get 0 limit right from the start. I did many accounts in the past and sense august been running into the same problem as dani is saying. So something is up with ebay. |

| BigCJ | 10-08-2014 09:28 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! You are listing high risk items, Branded or not on a new account. |
| nicoleleeli | 10-08-2014 09:30 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! But the thing is i listed a picture frame no brand name yesterday and they gave me 0/0 limit so this is something new. |
| anderman | 10-08-2014 11:05 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! Maybe you are missing something. There must me a common factor on how they are tracking you. I know it may be a bit extreme but I just got a different computer with a clean installation. I wipe the exif data from my images to be safe. Are you reusing old images? Not sure if they can track on exif data but better safe than sorry. |
| nicoleleeli | 10-08-2014 11:14 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! The only thing i did different on my computer in the past month was install microsoft office 2013 for my college course. Maybe ebay can see it i am starting to wonder about that. I never reuse photos i take new ones for every account. Maybe i should rename the photo because i know that they have a weird number code on them all because i take them with my phone. |
| nicoleleeli | 10-08-2014 11:16 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! But the thing that doesn't make sense i have 6 other accounts from 6 mths ago running on the same computer. I always make a new user for each account. But maybe when you are starting a seller account they go through a series of different security checks. |
| rdavidson | 10-08-2014 03:04 PM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! Hi,
I suffered a suspension/ban on an account earlier this year, I was running with Vero items right from the word go, had it going for just over 1year, then the account was burned. Organised a new account, sadly that only lasted circa 6months, following that I used a further account that sadly lasted 3 weeks.
ebay really are clamping down.
As someone mentions above - Apple products are hot at the moment with so many '⊗⊗⊗⊗' that have not been approved by Apple, I only see certified cables advertised on ebay and amazon now. Where non approved are listed - they are removed within a few days.
As I sell vero - i need to adapt a new strategy, perhaps something you need to look at too by listing other items and cutting down the number of branded items.
Hope this helps and good luck with the new account(s). |
| anderman | 10-08-2014 03:23 PM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! Yea I got nailed with Vero stuff recently. I know of some companies that have threatened ebay with copyright violations and selling counterfeit items in the last couple of months so as rdavidson said they may be clamping down more than before. I stay away from anything vero related. Ebay is my junk dropsite at the moment. The stuff I cant move on Amazon, Etsy, Bonanza or my own site (and that is not vero related) goes to ebay. |
| exxomscp | 10-08-2014 11:51 PM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! Wave bans are nothing new, you're just starting to notice them. They hit us all at some point.
Unfortunately, your product is too branded to be safe. I wouldn't do that. I would start off with toys instead. |
| Speeder33 | 10-09-2014 01:03 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! With ebay, the key is to try something new and seeing if the problem is fixed.
If you believe the problem is what you're selling, try selling something new and see if the new account has the same problem. |
| fox20c | 10-09-2014 07:19 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! Along with the branded item advice I would also say look at how your account was created and the exact steps taken to create it and what order those were taken in. That does have an impact on MC999 down the road. |
| bjammin | 10-09-2014 02:30 PM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! OP, are you getting MC999 suspension or MC999 account restriction.
If it is MC999 "account restriction" (should be with the first 2 hours) then it is nothing wrong that you are doing. It is EB rattling cages and having ppl call in to ask dumb questions that are easily answered.
If it is the other MC999, then it is something you are doing. Electronics are always a tough sell on eBay without occasional issues.
And as mentioned above, there are a variety of things that could have worked 6 months ago that are not gonna work today. EB is a constant evolving creature and they are on the look out for stealthers. |

| exxomscp | 10-10-2014 12:57 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! This is getting kind of crazy.
I'd like to report that I've been getting MC999 permanent suspensions almost every day for the past 5 days on the eBay end, literally an hour or two right before my auction sells. Using different descriptions, pictures, everything; doesn't seem to help. In fact, this has gotten so bad I'm doubling and tripling my efforts with alternate items which I HOPE go through. I normally make my own accounts in huge batches, but I may have to resort to buying a preaged account on here, as they've worked fine in the past.
For the transactions that have gone through, Paypal has also been limiting my accounts or reversing transfers because they could not contact the buyer by phone to confirm. Apparently this is now a practice at Paypal, regardless if your item is delivered or not. Jeez, go figure. Usually the limitation includes confirming my identity (which I am unable to do on stealth info). On top of Paypal's own glitches (new feature it seems they're adding; "you need to add a bank to accept this payment" which bugged up a bunch of payments into unncessary limbo status and caused other peoples accounts to get auto-limited even if you added one), it's really extra hassle I really don't wanna deal with. They didn't do either of these things last month on a huge amount of transactions, so I'm getting slightly paranoid there might be more changes on the way or already taking place..
Past 3 transactions that had delivered status under my Paypal accounts were limited asking for confirm identity request. Customer got the item, I never got the money. Misleading their customers into sending the item first and then adding or changing their requirements later on to piss you off. Things like this really make me just want to strangle or use eBay and Paypal for fraud if it's literally this hard to have a legit stealth operating. I'd hate to keep track of all this little sh** just to get my money after 180 days. What a f***ing pain..
Switching things up for tomorrow to get a boost of luck, but not happy about it. :/ Doesn't really seem like business as usual.. |

You said you made your accounts 'in batches'. Is there a diversity in your IPs?

Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! What about issue with products being sold - could be considered risky? |

:spy: | Apparently. What is fine, is no longer fine. Yes, all are different IPs. |

| exxomscp | 10-19-2014 10:46 PM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! Another MC999 ban wave. Around 5 accounts just went poof; I think they do this to literally anyone who sells the same item.
Seems to be related to the type of products you sell; can't really help it, but some of my future accounts are still alive. Gonna rotate to another product and just keep pushing forward. Good luck out there! |
| yotano211 | 10-20-2014 12:11 AM | Re: MC999 Getting Me Crazy! 20 Accounts down!! I hate to say it but I dont 2 MC999s today too. 2 out of 6 accounts are MC after the 2nd sale. I listed cheap stuff.
