| | | hustler_nyc | 10-11-2014 02:50 PM | 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? Is 0/0 a issue that has happened in the past around this time? I get why they increase security around this time. I've been on this forum since early march this year so I didn't get a chance to know how it went last year..
0/0 is the end of the world once you know how to get around it ..just a pain in the $$$ |

| Omgoozle | 10-11-2014 03:04 PM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? Every holiday season it's something different that starts in Sept/October and goes until Feb/March of the following year.
Last year it was MC999/request for info as soon as an account was created. This was dubbed the "New MC999" by ppl here on the forums. It's a phenomenon that faded away in March '14.
...and a few years ago it was something different, I forget exactly what. |
Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? Yeah theres always increased security nearing holiday season, just need to adapt and overcome as always |
| hustler_nyc | 10-11-2014 04:00 PM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? Thats nice to know. Id rather it be that than an all of sudden ramp up on security measures. |
| hustler_nyc | 10-11-2014 04:46 PM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? i just called to restore a account. the guy said the restriction I have will expire the 18th of this month??? anyone have a ebay rep tell them? I done waiting on the phone to speak with someone so if its restored great or ill just trash it. |
| hustler_nyc | 10-11-2014 04:47 PM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? they said its to make every ebay sale "secure" and they would be doing a new investigation on "new" accounts. |

Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? Have not had any problems so far...... |

I for one believe bad phone numbers are beginning to get recycled |

0/0 is the end of the world once you know how to get around it ..just a pain in the $$$ | The 2 newest accounts I had set up had been 0/0 as soon as I listed the first item. I listed very safe, low value stationary **** like erasers, notebooks, etc...Is this a new security or is it just me? Any words of advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I am tempting to call them. |
| fox20c | 10-14-2014 07:51 AM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? It is there new security measures. Sometimes the limits do not show until after you list. Boom- then they drop the 0/0 hammer on you. Address, phone and browsing are the 3 keys to success in this situation. |

| Rambo3 | 10-14-2014 11:36 AM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? my friend hustler_nyc ... long time no see
There are plenty of ways around it... in my opinion none of them are concrete enough though..
i have an account i just made with good limits... have no idea what i did.. ebay is RANDOM.
Last year.. i do not think there was a big 0/0 problem.. just the instant M-Word |
| aking | 10-14-2014 12:31 PM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? I just made 2 sellers accounts yesterday and listed 1 item on each account; both have 10/1000 limit. |

I spent 6 days browsing, following as well as buying stuff. The other waited 3 mons before listing the first item and still 0/0. |

| bjammin | 10-15-2014 02:48 PM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? I think hustler was referring to an account getting reinstated, not necessarily the 0/0 problem. I agree with fox that this is probably here to stay. At least, until it becomes too much of an inconvenience for EB. |

| aspkin | 10-15-2014 03:47 PM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? Eh, as it has been mentioned many times already, it's simply a matter of how you create your account(s) and it's initial usage. Using recycled phone numbers for example is not a good idea. EBay has stepped up their game and so should you.. |

Any specifics to the phone call?
before I figured out what was my successful method for getting around the 0/0 mess I made quite a few accounts and I have about 20 accounts sitting with 0/0 limits.
Because it takes 45 mins sometimes longer and the success is about 40% maybe 50% I have not had the motivation to make the phone calls on the accounts.
Would love to hear the steps you took and the conversation had that made it successful maybe get the motivation to call those 20 with 0/0 |
| glacier922 | 10-17-2014 03:52 AM | Re: 0/0 limit old/new ongoing issue? I think this issue has more to do with the timing of the year. Last year, when I first started in this forum, I opened my first stealth it was a nightmare because I kept getting mc999. After January though, it was much easier, just maybe ebay stepping up because of Christmas time. But after January, I created soapy variations of my name, and my real name is so rare, and if you twist and misspell it, there's no one else that would have this name whatsoever, inwould still get my 10/1000 pretty easily. |
