MC999 - Help me figure this out
 

I started a stealth account, using all the tools provided.

Clean computer.

Clean user account on computer.

Clean phone number (google voice).

Used my Cell as a Mifi - tracked the IPs, no duplicates, not the same as any other I would ever have used.

Used unique Credit Card to create unique PayPal.

Logged in to all of them only from that computer.

Passed the eBay phone call with initial 0/0 raised to 10/500.

Listed *one* book - "Used - Like New"

What did I miss? I intended to age this account slowly, listing a book or two here or there.

this is not a hard MC999, moreso a pre-selling checkup. they're very common, and just initial "checks" to ensure you keep the items you're selling at home and ship with a company eBay knows about.

call in and be friendly and talkative. they will want to get you off the phone asap :)

Dont worry about it its happening all the time now with new sellers just call them and answer a few easy questions.

And wow, double verification - had just actually gotten the suspension lifted and was coming back here to report.

So I had to call in the first time to be able to sell anything.

Then call again when I tried to sell.

They called me back to my Google Voice number which I am forwarding to my Cell phone. (Had outgoing cell blocked.) This to make sure it "was a working phone number."

The confirmed info on the account and reopened it.

Oh, and suggested I take 10-15 pictures of any book I sell and not use stock photos.

Going to tread very carefully with this account - would love to see it age and grow.

Especially given that I have now had to speak with them twice.

I feel dirty.

And I love this Forum.

As an FYI, you can use eBay's stock photos ONLY if the item is brand new. I think that 10-15 pictures is overkill. I always take a picture of the front cover, the back cover and a close up of any damage on the book. That prevents returns from people complaining the condition of the book was mis-described.

You should also understand that eBay/PayPal and Amazon are always a lot tougher on new accounts during the Christmas season, because the scammers come out like mosquitos right now.

I'm working that out. Friend of mine just got hit with a request for a boatload of information by PayPal.

10 years ago I was selling second hand Jeans. I suspect those would get me closed down now!

I saw couple of messages from other users, and I have to add my
own experience. I don't think books are good items to start with. I had many
issues going on when I listed books, and I only have few stealth accounts.
I saw you mentioned you listed a book first.

Depends on what the brands are i guess in terms of having no problems with second hand jeans
Would have thought high street brands would be fine....but anything.above that is a risk on a new account.

If you listed a stock picture of a used item that is a policy breach.

Could explain your mc999 if thats the case.
