How to verify UK paypal?
 

Hello, I opened a new ebay and listed an item, I then went to list another item and ebay is asking me to verify my identity by linking a verified paypal account to the ebay account. Question is, how can I verify my paypal? I don't have a bank account. PS this is a UK paypal

Hi james10, welcome to the forum, good thing you found us before you proceeded to with your ebay/PayPal because for the UK a real bank account HAS to be added to verify your PayPal account, there is no alternative, adding the bank does verify the PayPal and as you seem to be finding you will not be able to proceed without adding one, because you would not be able to withdraw the funds from any sales and more importantly in eBay/PayPal's eyes, they would not be collect their fees.


have you added a VCC or virtual credit card to your eBay/PayPal accounts yet? This confirms your stealth details for them as well.

Exactly as Rosie says....:-)

Everybody works differently and my preference is to verify and confirm paypal before i even make an ebay account.

See what others say, but im wondering whether you should just scrap that ebay account and make another.
My fear would be that you have already drawn attention to this ebay account and given that you havent attached any financial details to it, im thinkibg it might be best to scrap it completely.

See what others thibk because this is purely an opinion.

I like to spend the time doing paypal first and while im waiting for codes to verify and cobfirm, i make a buyers account and begin to surf surf and go to the help pages and look through them and act like a complete newbie.

Once paypal is done, i then start a process of biddibg on stuff im not going to win plus watch items.

Then slowly list a couple of low value used items....wait till they end and list a few more and slowly build on that :-)

HOWEVER....im presuming that because you actually listed an item...you will have been asked for an address by ebay. Were you? I ask because i dont operate like you have done.
And, if you did give an address, then my advice above about scrapping will be a waste of an address IF you have bought that address from a company.
Please give more details to your ebay set up because you may well be able to attach a paypal and be fine but im thinkibg you have already drawn attention to your account before its even startes and again my opinion, i think if it was me and id not given an address or had but not one id paid for, id be inclined to start again and sort paypal out first :-)

From when i joined this forum, i always remembered GB's statement that your paypal is the most important over anything else.
So this method i do out of habit now :)

Welcome to the forums - you need a bank account to verify the PP - why can't you get one?
