Don't know what to do!
 

I drove by the Post Office earlier this morning and just drove up to the Blue drop off USPS boxes (?) so I can stay in my car as I was running super late. It was just 6 maybe 7 small taped up envelopes. No tracking numbers.

The problem:

I don't remember if I put stamps on them or not!!! I bought 3 books of stamps the other day. The last time I remember seeing them was in the dash of my car.. otherwise I can't find them. How long would it take USPS to return my items for postage if I forgot to put stamps on them? How do I take this up with my customer? IF I did remember, I don't want to send a message to a few of my customers and scaring them with a delay and they receive their package the next day. I don't know what to do. I'm still looking for the 3 books of stamps now. If theres any gone then I put stamps on them and I'm good to go!!

So you need to find your books of stamps like you say and fingers crossed that there are some missing indicating you did put them on those packages jako, if not you have to wait for them to get back to you in xx days and take it from there, you aren't going to know what the next step is until one or the other of those things happens

Any idea on the estimated amount of time it'd take for them to return them? If I don't find them I might call USPS and see if they have any returned for postage packages/letters. Don't know if they'd release that information though.

If you had some stamps left you will have kept them so will find them ok, no real idea how long it would take USPS to return your packages, you will have more idea on that one, probably going to be several days to a week

Been hours and still can't find them. Literately no where.

Don't know if I should warn my customers or not.

If no stamps have been applied AND you have a return address on them...they will come back - takes a bit of time - maybe a week tops. Advise customers accordingly in case

If this was for eBay, then you may have another problem if you did not upload a tracking number for the shipment. If you have too many of these defects, then you can lose your account.

I have never received mail back quickly from USPS.

I would not message the buyers until you get the items back. Then I would explain that you messed up on the postage. Somewhat make yourself look like you made a really dumb mistake. People seem to be more forgiving if you play the dumb card.

Smart call. I'm hoping one of them leaves positive feedback to confirm that I did it correctly and they received everything. STILL can't find the stamps!!

If theyre low cost items send new ones if there not than wait. Weigh the value of the acct to the cost of new packages shipped out

Biggest question is, why did you not have a tracking number?
