Little story of a crazy buyer from my original account

Back in 2012.. when I had no limits and was selling like crazy.. I would meet a crazy buyer who would harass me every 1000 or 2000 items. I sold mainly electronic accessories and I specialized in a couple playing card games. I always did BIN listings for the accessories but for some reason a few of my items weren't selling so I decided to start them with a 7 day .99 bid.

The listing ended at around $15 or so. I don't remember too well. The price averaged around $25 on BIN so I wasn't too happy at the price but I was glad I was getting rid of the stock. If I remember correctly, this buyer was established on eBay and was registered for quite some time! He didn't pay for the item for X amount of days and my eBay store had it set up where eBay would automatically open a case that the buyer did not pay. I'd it was 5 days later when it was opened and on the 6th day I received notification that the buyer paid. I packaged up the product and printed my label and dropped it off that day with lots of other items.

I received MULTIPLE messages on the 7th day after the auction yelling at me and asking "Why my f***ing item hasn't came yet???". I wanted to stay professional and kept calm and explained that he only paid yesterday and that I can't ship without payment. He then yelled more saying that when he bid on the item he was expecting the item to deliver within 4 days USPS Priority mail after the item has ended... without paying until the item to be delivered. And he then claimed that if I was gonna be so late on shipment that i should UPS overnight the item.

I said go ahead and open the case as your reasoning wouldn't stand up in eBay review. I'm just estimating on my times now, but on the 8th day I received neg feedback for "Never shipped" and I added a comment with the tracking number and added that he never paid. I was gonna call eBay later after this situation to get it removed.

The buyer then opened a case with the reasoning in "Other" and explained that he feels he should have a full refund and keep the item because I have "emotionally hurt him". He continued to harass him and he actually bought ANOTHER one of my items and left immediate neg feedback. I never really blocked buyers until I got into Stealth.

I won the case very quickly... The item wasn't even delivered yet and I think eBay reps just understood my situation. I got the two negs removed and about a week later I check back and his 100+ account is no longer registered. I don't know if he was trying to scam me or that he seriously thought he had an argument here. :)

Emotionally hurt... LOVE IT!
More like mentally damaged.
Yeah we all get the crazy ones every so often. Got a couple of similar stories myself. The longer you sell on ebay and the more people you sell to the higher the chances of running into one of them. You deal with it and move on.

Welcome to the world of blocking buyers - it is an important tool to consider moving forward EVEN before bidders WIN in some cases...

I have had someone recently ask, where is my item, they were international buyer and paid 3 days before. It was a mid-range price item and they did not pay expedited, expedited would have cost too much and not worth it for the product value, anyway....none of this registered with them, and like OP buyer, they were not a zero fb noob. It made no sense......

also had someone last week, cancel, after the item was sent, and complain that I sent it out???? and why can I not get it from the post office...what about my inconvenience?

I was selling old DVD's on Amazon in 2008/2009, and I sold a $35 special edition Disney DVD, original and sealed, to a lady and promptly shipped it out.

44 days later they opened a case that said, verbatim, "I'm pretty sure I received it but I can't find it anywhere. I even looked under the couch!"

I laughed it off.... until the claim was held up by Amazon and she was refunded with money from my account.

I contacted Amazon directly, and they told me "Claims and decisions cannot be reversed once made."

I didn't sell on amazon again until briefly in 2012/2013, and I've avoided them since.
