Am I ok to not not add bank account straight away
 

Hi everyone

Just wanted a bit of advice regarding adding a bank account on PayPal

If I open a PayPal account and buy a VCC off here to use on that account can I sell on eBay and receive money into PayPal WITHOUT adding a bank account to my PayPal?

The reason I ask is cos we don't have a massive choice of bank accounts in the uk especially ones to use on stealth so I'd rather know the eBay an PayPal account are running ok for a few weeks making sales without any limitations, restrictions etc before wasting a bank account?

There will be different responses to your post because some of us will always add a bank account when we create our paypal account a little before we create and link the ebay account to it. It's a personal preference issue really. Since the new PayPal ID identification strategy ramped up at Christmas it has been harder to go forward without adding a bank account which of course does verify your details in your paypal account. If you try to go forward without linking your bank account to your paypal you may find your account gets limited and you won't be able to sell until you add your bank account.

Paypal is way more important than ebay, so personally i like to verify and confirm a paypal before i do anything else

UK still have plenty of banks to choose from which are suitable for stealth and later on you can make use of savers also.
Any previous bank accounts used for pp can be closed down if no lobger needed, waiting a while, then reopen with bank and get new numbers. People do close accounts and reopen...but do this slowly.

Everybody is different, but as said, paypal is by far the most important so i would not try to list without verifying and confirming first. Just my opinion.


You can buy a VCC from here or you could join entropay which is suitable for stealth as a way of confirming your account.

That what I feared since the new PayPal I'd verification come into play in December just hate the thought of wasting a bank account if the PayPal or eBay goes down

Yeah I get what you mean just seen a few post with people advising about not adding the bank account so as not to burn it if there's any problems with the account

If I buy and add a VCC once it expires after 1 year can I just buy and add another one without any problems?

those comments are being made by our neighbours across the pond in the USA.

At present, there are still differences between the two countries.

Keep in mind, ebay likes/prefers a verified and confirmed paypal. That needs a bank account.


And yes, you can add a VCC after one expires.

What are you going to do wwith funds from sales without a bank account though?

You and most of the rest of us Keithlan because of course none of us know until we have added our bank accounts to the paypal accounts and sold for a while whether or not the account will survive. More specifically selling up to the EU £1900 limit, when we find out for definate, if our uploaded documents are accepted by Paypal, that's when we either pass or fail the first big hurdle!

Yeah I just realised now them posts and advise I seen on here were posts from the US

The plan was sell for a few weeks on eBay get payed into PayPal then after 2-4 weeks once I know everything is ok with eBay I would of added a bank account to PayPal and then started to withdraw the money

Just didn't wanna wasted a bank account straight away then list an item on eBay only for account to get suspended then that bank account is ruined for stealth without ever even using it

Yes you can remove it and add a new one.
No bank card lasts forever, so it is normal for this to happen.




Adding a bank account lifts your withdrawal and sending limits.

Add the bank account because you sure as hell want to make sure you have withdrawn all your funds before you get to the time of submitting the docs for the EU limit, and definitely when then the third party fraud protection credit checks are done a few weeks/months afterwards
