Keep getting the following error for about 24 hours when trying to list the first item on a new ebay id(3 days old). This message always shows up right before the phone verification.

"Sorry! We're currently experiencing technical difficulties and are unable to complete the process at this time."

So far, there is no way to get around it. There are a couple of other members saying the same thing under the Phone Verification Section on the forum.

Can eBay now recognize vumbers?

Please help

lol thats just a glitch, make sure you have cookies and flash enabled, its probably timing out for some reason.

I know how to get the cookies enabled on FireFox.
But where do I enable the flash?

I also tried IE with everything enabled and it gives me the same thing.

You have experienced the same thing before?

Yeah, on mine it was because of script blocker....


For the flash it should be automatically enabled unless your using some kind of tool.

Cookies and flash are enabled. Still no good today. Both IE and FireFox can not get through it. Also applied a new ID, when it gets to the same place, same error comes up.

Contact ebay live help, its not supposed to give that screen so many times

I did yesterday. They said this is a known issue. Will send to programming. I'll try creating new account in a different way tomorrow and see if it still gets the same thing.

Did some test last night. Here is the report.

1. AOL Dial-up + FireFox(clear all cookie & flash objects)
2. On a different computer - laptop.
3. Applied one ebay personal account and a business account.
4. Two different IPs - 172.129.*.* , 172.133.*.*
5. Totally different name, address. etc. both within 20 miles.
6. Use 2 different vumbers.

Results: Both failed. Same error - "Sorry! We're currently experiencing technical difficulties and are unable to complete the process at this time."

Does eBay block certain new ids, vumber or computer name?

No, if you were blocked for some reason they would tell you. I dont think it has anything to do with you having multiple accounts, and everything to do with their server.

It has nothing to do with their server. I was having the same problem (as I posted in eBay Discussion) and it is still doing in on Account A. I then created an Account B and it worked fine. I created an Account C and it worked fine. I went back to A and tried again, same error. Something I did with that account they did not like as it will still give me the error but if I go create a new account it will not.

I think the account got flagged somehow and now it will never pass phone verification. I had eBay Support forward it to Trust & Safety, and I contacted them as well and nothing ever came of it.

Did some more test these days. As long as you can create an ID with COMPLETE different information, you will pass the error very easily. Believe me, it's not a real "system error"

I got this 4 seperate times last night trying to creat sellers accounts??? Have done nothing different then I usually do when creating accounts, I have used the same process 50 times, now I cant get past the phone verification???? not sure where my problem is? anyone else still having this problem?

If you use an extension I don't think it works for phone verification

I didnt say anything about using an extension, I use landlines, this is some kind of newe security measure for EB, something has to trigger it??????

Just throwing this out there- but if you have part of your email address name as part of your ebay name, that might be throwing things off. This happened to me during registration, and I contacted live help and they said you can't have similar names/wording in an ebay name and email address. WHY it came up when I was doing phone verification, I have no idea. But when I changed it everthing worked fine.

It happens to me right after I clear my firefox private data.Try clearing your dat aand waiting a few mintues.
