FBA on Amazon

I have a real Amazon account that has no experience but not suspended. Would it be worth to FBA thrift shop items that I find daily? For Amazon, I am only interested in FBA at first until I get used to it.

Is my thinking wrong?

I was reading the steps on their website and it seems like they only do FBA for items over $35? Anyone have explanation on this?

Thanks

If you are going to get going full pelt with items round the value you mention then FBA probably is a good option, I have just taken it quite steady and have had no problems handling things myself. You probably are trying to make things more complicated than you need to especially as you are by the sound of it in the early stages of this account. Start selling some low risk items and learn more first before you look at FBA would be my suggestion.

Re: FBA on Amazon

For FBA Amazon charges you a fulfillment fee as well as storage fees I believe. If you can't handle your order volume then FBA is probably good, but if you can then you are kind of throwing money away. It seems to be for sellers with multiple quantities of items that have a good profit margin.

A warning about starting on Amazon... avoid A-to-z claims and negative feedback at all costs. If a buyer wants to return an item, it's probably best to let them do it with out hassle. Amazon only allows <1% defect rate, so when you are starting out just one claim or negative puts you over that and they can suspend you.

This happened to me. I had like 125 orders and 3 claims which was like 2.5% defect which Amazon doesn't like. I was suspended and luckily was able to appeal and tell them how I'd fix the issues and they gave me my account back. But it's better to avoid that all together. Amazon is like 10x more strict than eBay.

I was over 1% for a time, quite well over, so they put me on a rolling reserve which in the event meant nothing as I still got paid out when the next disbursement was due! Never got suspended though.

Re: FBA on Amazon

I'm still on the rolling reserve. Kind of annoying. Every day a little bit more is available. I never was over like 2.8% but that was enough.

I kept contacting them about how to sell internationally and I think every time they checked my account and eventually some one cared enough about my defect rate. I'll never contact them again.

Re: FBA on Amazon

Thanks for the advice. See, I don't want to have all the risks etc of selling on Amazon just yet and getting suspended. I'd rather just let Amazon take over with MY products and sell them and they deal with issues if any occur while they take their share and I take mine. Anyone think this is a possibility?
