New security by pp?
 

Haven't had time to search the forum on this yet but today i tried to add a bank acc to one of my old accounts that had its bank removed by pp.

Log in add bank and it takes me to a security check. Says" we dont recognize the device your using. To continue linking your account please verify. Tells me to receive a text or phone call.

I add a new number to receive text and it says this number doesn't appear to be registered in your name. Try again.....

Do they really know or are able to tell now which numbers are registered in my name or someone else?????

You'll never be able to add a number and get them to text/call that new number. You need to have the OG number working so you can get the text/call. Some say you can wait a while after adding the second number, but even then I never got that to work.

When they do say "this number doesn't appear to be registered in your name" I believe they are referencing landline ownership info. So in this case a burner cell would not work.

Yeah fox is right, needs to be the same number you used to sign up, the days of not keeping a number active are gone.

Only way around that is to call them and ask them to manually add the account.
This new security measure is completely absurd considering hardly anyone uses a landline these days - VOIP and cell numbers dominate the market and the sooner PP realizes that the better off we will all be.

Yes I gave up on PayPal. I sleep better since did that. Thankfully I had bad feeling about them 18 months ago and started putting good chunk of my money in promoting an affiliate site.
