| johncarter | 03-08-2015 06:03 PM | Email Tracking Beacon, Gmail I tried to read here about, but couldn't find nothing. I read not to open email that show images and to disable them since they can see the ip address.
I notice lately like last year google, host the images of email on there server now. Because I right click and view image url and its on the google server Is this true, if so, Is okay to view the images on the account. Since they can't do tracking beacon on google no more???
" How Gmail makes images safe
Some senders try to use externally linked images in harmful ways, but Gmail takes action to ensure that images are loaded safely. Gmail serves all images through Google’s image proxy servers and transcodes them before delivery to protect you in the following ways:
Senders can’t use image loading to get information like your IP address or location.
Senders can’t set or read cookies in your browser.
Gmail checks your images for known viruses or malware."
