Linking through user accounts?

My question to the people on this thread is: How do you change your User Accounts and be really safe?
I have been able to figure out how to change I.P addresses, so I am FINALY good there.... However,
If I go on my router page while I am on User -A , Then Change the IP, then change to User B, isn't there a good chance that the cookies will read at the e-bay or Pay Pal website I was on at User - A? Even though I am not logged in there?
I mean, when I go to the site when I am at User- A, they already have my USER ID in the Log-In box which means they are tracking my cookies....

Before I change over to User -B, the website will see the IP that I just changed to, by reading cookies, therefore I will get linked... Yes or No ?

ALSO- if I change over to User - B first, THEN change I.P.'s, the same thing will probably happen but to the second User account from the other I.P. Yes Or No?

THIS is a very interesting question and I am very curious to see how people do this without getting linked...
Thanks

The safest thing to do would be to go ahead and change your IP prior to logging into a new user account. After you log out of your user account, change your IP and then log into the second user account.

why do you change your IP while still on user account A? that is risky if you are still on webpages etc..

You should change to user account B and then only change IP address.

Cookies are shared in a folder for each user account.

However i have noticed, if you do not make them administrator accounts and you go to install an item on a certain user account, it will ask you to confirm admin account first and that is when the cookies store in both the admin account and the user account you are installing on.

so if you instal say, adobe flash player update on one user account but it requires admin password to allow it, the cookies will be shared between htat user account and the admin account?
So approving things on multiple user accounts with admin password will link all the cookies on every account?!?!

Re: Linking through user accounts?

The way I do it is:
I log into my main user, a general PC user that I share with my other half. I then do the changing of IP(Change MAC) and wait for the new IP.
When I get the new IP I take a look at the excel spreadsheet that I have and check if the IP has been used by any of the users, if it has then I restart the computer and log into the user that was linked to the IP.

I log out of User A - switch into User B then reset the modem for new IP before accessing any service - works fine

That's why I like Dial up so much.
No chance of messing things up. Each account has their own dial up number and no hard connection whatsoever. Zero chance of linkage.
Slow but ultra safe.

I need to try out the dial up haven't been on there in a while.

Re: Linking through user accounts?

As long as you are extremely careful, dial up is unnecessarily slow. The key is to be paranoid. If you are not 100% sure you changed the IP, simply change it again. Only takes a few minutes to be safe.

^ yes! i change my ip address when logging on and logging off, just to be safe.
I keep a log of IPs that have been used for accounts, and IPs that have just come up when switching the ip when logging off, even if no account used that ip.
