All my friends/family already have accounts. |

| RosieTosie | 03-31-2015 01:56 PM | Re: Need a stealth addresss You do need a working accessible returns address with Ebay these days in UK, you don't always get the chance to send the buyer a message of where you want them to return the item to as they often notify ebay first they want to send item back, in which case Ebay just sends them the address they have on file for you. You then of course never get the item back, it cannot be delivered anywhere so get returned to sender, in this case the irate buyer, who then tells Ebay about it and your account is suddenly in a bad way!
I have a mail forwarding address ready to add to my account, that is one way of dealing with it. |
| mmartin9999 | 03-31-2015 01:58 PM | Re: Need a stealth addresss I never use addresses that I have access to. Never have, never have caused issues.
Buyers don't usually care where they are sending a return if you buy the label and send it to them. I've been questioned once in over 100 returns. I told them I do not handle returns, but my supplier does, so they go directly to them. |
| RosieTosie | 03-31-2015 02:00 PM | Re: Need a stealth addresss Things are different over here in the UK, and return addresses can be an issue. |
| mmartin9999 | 03-31-2015 04:21 PM | Re: Need a stealth addresss Rosie,
Not sure how it is different?
When buyer messages or opens a case for a return a message is sent directing them to check their email for a shipping label(in PDF form) to return the item.
The label has my address(well my private mailbox, not my house) already on it and the postage is paid. Buyer prints label, tapes onto the box and drops off at post office.
Given I end up paying for return postage for some returns that I shouldn't pay return shipping on, but it's worth the $3 to me. The other option of an address for each account, which isn't economically feasible in my market.
I also refund a lot of items without a return. Depends on reason for return and if item has been opened. |
| RosieTosie | 04-01-2015 07:13 AM | Re: Need a stealth addresss Exactly, you have already taken step to avoid return not being to be sent back to u mmartin 9999 by having a private mailbox which as you point out is not your house address. That is your way of dealing with the issue, most people using stealth will have their own way of avoiding any potential issues if buyers contact ebay first for returns. It is not unusual that different countries have different options for this, |
| Geegee83 | 04-01-2015 07:56 AM | Re: Need a stealth addresss I'm the same as Martin.
I don't worry about it, but I also don't get many returns either.
I tried a mail forwarding place and purchased a couple of items, they never arrived.. so I'm not sure it's even worth that. Better off getting them sent to my Grandma or something and collecting them a few times a year if I'm worried about it. |
Re: Need a stealth addresss Welcome to the forums OP - post office boxes can work as return/stealth address |

I never hang on to an account for too long. Burn them as soon as I get the SSN notification from PP.
Luckily my items sell out within 24 hours of listing, so I don't have to enter that many accounts per day. |
| oompaloompa | 04-03-2015 04:30 AM | Re: Need a stealth addresss a return to a mailbox can be costly, if you have to pay a receiver fee or/and forwarding fee, plus some boxes have a montly/yearly fee.....so you have to weigh up if it is worth it. Some businesses work perfectly proficiently, letting customers keep products or offering partial refunds.....
You can catch a return request if the buyer auto gets your registered address and contact them saying you are emailing returns label etc....they are usually fine.....
also a mailbox can be turned in to multi different addresses, with combo of names and slight address tweaks, so you do not need one mailbox per account. |

This sounds like so much hard work- Sounds like all you do is create accounts, ****.
Do you have other people creating accounts for you and employees who look after that part of business or are you a one man band? If so, then you must have serious work ethic or you just abuse adderall?
Damn. |
| mmartin9999 | 04-03-2015 11:24 PM | Re: Need a stealth addresss I'm not going to go into full details of my business, because frankly it's none of anyone's damn business and I don't know if my competitors are here or not, and I'm not interested in boosting their business.
I could handle this on my own, but I don't as I want to have time for what I want to do. If I did it all on my own, which I did for 6+ months, I would be working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week and surely wouldn't have all of the steps covered as I do with help.
I've shared some of my processes with a few members here. I think very differently than most and am able to utilize tools that the average stealthier doesn't consider using.
I've also got to the point I am at through a lot of trial and error. I literally have over 100 limited paypal accounts with far more than I care to think about in them-far above the average US salary. I don't get hung up on losing accounts, I figure out a solution to not have it happen again.
I'm not here to brag. I'm here to learn and share what I can without risking losing my methods, because I was in the position a lot of people come here in-a bunch of stock and no way to move it. |
| oompaloompa | 04-05-2015 08:22 AM | Re: Need a stealth addresss having numerous accounts and going to the limit on them IS a method that can work, it is a bit exhausting but it makes money, which is all that matters.....the returns address can be done via pm or tell them a returns label is on its way via email or post, or just negotiate a partial refund..... it can be the same address, but risky of course.....as long as you pay your fees before you close an account, you can sell the same products on a new account and they will not notice/care/link you doing it.... | | All times are GMT -5.
