| jakobrockz | 03-31-2015 03:20 PM | Category limits Bought a good amount of cheaper and older, but still popular, video games from a store that was closing.
I totally did NOT think about category limits and I have video game limit of 5 per 30 days.
Is there anyway to get rid of them and/or increase them BEFORE after selling for 90 days? Most of my accounts are newer and have this limit.
If theres nothing I can do, just simply say so. |

Open more accounts and spread your sales across them. That's pretty much it before your each the goals to have those limits removed. |

I just saw a seller (brand new account, opened feb. 22 2015) selling some of the same video games I have. He's sold 49 total video games (3 BIN with many sold of each) ALL WITHIN 3 DAYS. HOW! This means that theres a way to bypass these category limits.
He posted in the correct category
Any thoughts would be great! Thanks forum |

| jakobrockz | 04-05-2015 08:19 PM | Re: Category limits Like an automatic increase when you've been selling good? I don't know how I can prove myself very much if I can only sell 5 of a product
Or by sending in invoices and such? |

Re: Category limits Spread the sales over multiple accounts |
| jakobrockz | 04-05-2015 10:50 PM | Re: Category limits Yea I know. These games are pretty fast sellers so I wanted to sell them on one of the accounts that already has a bank attached and one that doesn't spell a specialized item.
123, do you think it'd be worth calling and see if they can be increased? With all my info in front of me, I'm pretty confident when calling. |

| Dan T. | 04-11-2015 04:01 AM | Re: Category limits In all of my 3 years on ebay running completely legit accounts,
I've talked with EB reps on phone over 10 times about limits increase.
Not even once did they ask for anything except:
My name,
phone number on file,
address on file,
what items do I intend to list in future,
Source of items.
Just something for you to consider. |

UK is fairly basic, A/S/L etc.
US seems to be more tarded because they ask what was your pet turtle name when you were 7 years old and how many times did your grandad mention 'Nam around the dinnertable.
As for other EU countries and worldwide nations, I can't comment. |
Re: Category limits @jako, which gaming platforms' games did you get? I'd be interested in buying some stock... |
| xShevaa7x | 04-11-2015 09:58 AM | Re: Category limits I know a way to kind of get around it, but it's not really a get around more of a "it's better than nothing" kind of thing.
Instead of listing as Video Games - Games (the best one) you can list it as Video Games - Other Video Games and Consoles.
You won't get as many sales or page views as Video Games - Games, but it's much better than selling 5 per month in the main category.
List 5 of your most popular games in the Video Games - Games, so they sell and then list everything else you can in Video Games - Other Video Games and Consoles. After or around 90 days your limits for the category should go away.
This works in the UK, but have never tested it in any other countries.
Like rsot said, if you were looking to sell anything, let me know what you have and I would possibly be interested too. What I have written above should work for you, it does me. |
| amin530 | 08-22-2015 07:49 PM | Re: Category limits You can list Item using different category once listed you can go back and revise that listing and select listing where you were limited it works just fine for me. |
| stevesu | 08-22-2015 09:14 PM | Re: Category limits Thanks for the posts really interesting information |
| access0ner | 08-31-2015 06:43 AM | Re: Category limits I hate the mixed answers this site has to offer. Obviously we're all taking risks here. One after another, if you call in they will ask you for invoices and ID verification. eBay doesn't use SSN , so it's not illegal to send eBay docs let alone advise someone to sen in docs with stealth name attached. Like I get it we shouldn't encourage **** like this but give a guy some other options here... This is the subscriber forum, ain't it? Photoshop is your friend and I wish these gurus on here would share info with us... But we're all just a bunch of crabs in a barrel now aren't we...
I've personally had this problem once and a rep was nice enough to lift the category limit bc I said it was just ONE item over the limit, just some food for thought I guess.
Someone on here has to know EXACTLY how the OTHER seller was able to "gain eBays trust" obviously in the way the account was created. Someone spill it! | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:25 AM. | |
