Windows user accounts
 

Hi,
Is there a problem giving all of my user accounts admin rights?
Do I need to log off every time I switch user accounts, or can I just close the browser and keep the user account on?

Doesn't matter if the user account has admin rights, don't see any reason why they would need it though.

Every time you log onto a different eBay accounts it's advised to log off the user account then log into the different one.

admins doesnt even matter. as long as you log into a new user youll be fine.

I give all my user accounts admin rights (don't think it makes any difference) but I do log off each user account before accessing another

I have 400 user accounts on my laptop.
The main accounts had admin rights. None of the others do. It is not necessary and Ive been running this way for the last several years.
Yes you do need to log off one user account before logging into another or certain software issues can arise.

lol hun I didnt imply GB had said it first or second, I merely was saying i agree with her statement that it is 'necessary'

Where as you just said that you make your accounts admin and dont think it matters.

When i think it does matter. :p

When you have an account that is NOT an admin account and you need to install something, or it asks for admin permission, a login box pops up and when you log in, it starts storing cookies for both the account you are on AND the admin account...

So doing this across multiple accounts could get risky. IMO.

That is exactly when the errors slip into the entire stealth process.

It's all about control, imo.

When I decide that one of my stealth alias is s "dumb" guy... I do not give to that particular one administration rights just to avoid problems on my PC :lol:

1. No problem at all
2. Don't do the switch user account, always log-off when you done with that account a go for the next. It also save your computer resource

If you have a decent amount of accounts, I highly recommend looking into getting VMWare, it helps with managing accounts and eliminates the need to switch between Users on Windows.

However, in your current situation, No; it does not actually matter to most stealthers about having Administrator on each User Account. BUT, it does make things easier if you intend to share files between each account, such as labels, spreadsheets, pictures, etc.

In short, if you intend to access files on existing Administrator accounts, you must have your other accounts Administrator as well.

If you do not care about sharing files between users, a normal user account works. :thumb:

why do you have to log off your account before switching is it because they can link you or something or is it to save resources?

Because you could be linked qualitydeals, because remember each account has its own set of cookies, don't want to risk any mixing or overlapping of cookies or anything else during change over of accounts.

so is it just because of cookies or can they get your ip also? if your useing firefox portable can you just switch to the other user account or no?

i have a lot of stuff open on my machine so it takes a while to log off and then switch. is there any way around this?

i created another user, i cleaned cookies and flash on my main user, i set up a vpn on the other user so my ip is good there, and i was going to get firefox portable.

It is cookies and IP address qualitydeals. Did you get a good VPN and not go for a cheap one with risk of leaking your IP address all over the place, they are super if you go for the right one.

yeah i got the 24vpn or whatever one 123 recommended and yes i got the fresh plan for dedicated unused ip

so if your logged in both users do cookies and ip transfer between accounts or anything?
