Creating and Growing backup Stealth accounts
 

What If I'm opening some accounts to not do anything with, but just to sit there and build time up until I need them? Can I open the eBay and Paypal accounts and not add a phone, bank or card until I need them? Do I have to post an item, making it a seller account in order to let it grow the 60-90 day periods or does it count as long as you simply create the eBay account? I'd just hate to create accounts at let them sit for 2 or 3 months, thinking that they would have passed the 90 days

You can do that. But like you said just opening accounts and leaving them alone is not good enough:
1. The phone is added when creating the account and needs to be kept alive regardless since one day you might need it. You also need it in order to turn the account into a seller account.
2. Youll need to add at least a VCC in order to turn the account into a seller account - and you should turn it into a seller account early on.
3.You should post at least one item on there (doesnt need to be sold) just to get the aging done as a seller account.

No, when you start selling, eBay will view it as a new account. Still, it is better to have the accounts now than to create them later.

What I mean by that is, the older an account is, the stronger it is. My method is to create the account, list a few minor items on it that probably won't sell very well. That way I have a listing history. If an item sells, I immediately ship it. I treat it like a live account. Usually, by the time I want to do something with it, my limits are either already increased, or they increase quickly.

The one thing is, you MUST keep tabs on the accounts, because if you make a sale and don't ship, that is worse than not having made the account. It will pretty much kill it off.

To make an aged account, it must be a seller account. Aging a buyer account is not enough. You will need to confirm the phone number and have a payment method on file.

Every new account needs acitvity for ebay.

Letting accounts be dormant no longer is feasible.

Make a point of having a working phone number attached for paypal as soon as possible.

I make them 10 at a time, let them age a while, then put a few listings on and put the listings on 'auto-relist until they sell' option.

I turn on an Auctiva free account, and check them every 2nd or third day, you can do one or more a minute if nothing is going on with them.

Once in a while I log on and boost the number of listings to whatever my new limit may be.

Things do sell over time, even if they're not hot items. Like Jeff says, if something sells, BE SURE to ship! Get some positive feedback, put a little money cushion in your PP.

Then, when you're ready to actually put them to work in a few months or a year, they're ready to go, PP holds are gone, you have some track history and good feedback, you look like somebody who just decided to step up their activity. Easy peasy. :)

Forgive my ignorance, but you have an Auctiva account that allows you to check all of your accounts at once?

You can log in and out of Auctiva accounts from the same browser/ip without messing with user accounts and/or ip addresses because it's a 3rd party and they don't share your Auctiva activity with eB/PP.

But if you want to do multi accounting with a 3rd party, I used to use Inkfrog.

But I found that Auctiva was 100000x better and more user friendly so I ended up paying the $9.99/mo for about 20 accounts.


....That was years ago when things were better though.

I like to browse and bid on accounts steadily while waiting on them to be ready to sell - always keeping them active
