Default A bit of info about calling in to increase limits

I called into eBay and wanted to raise my limits. I only listed one item (out of the 10/1000 limit) and wanted to call in and get a higher limit. This account is 90+ days old.

The rep told me specifically that, in my interest, I should call back once I max out my limits because it shows eBay that you want to maximize your allowance on their website. With only 1 item listed, the rep said I could only raise my limit to 16 items and something dollars... but she estimated a limit increase of 25-50 with my limits maxed out.

Just a heads up to everyone that people should max out their limits on small accounts like 5/500 and 10/1000 to get better bumps on their limits.

I know plenty of people already do this but I have read posts on the forum suggesting that sellers should only list 50-80% of their limits.

I agree with you, but I think the difference is in the time frame.

For example, on a new account, you probably don't want to max it out on day one. But after you get a few positive feedbacks, then yes, by all means, max it out.

Good point. This account is about 140 days old and 15 feedback. I took a month or so break on the account and just started to use it again.

It sounds like you are doing everything right. Just keep selling and you won't even have to call in. My friend started out with a 5/500 stealth account and was increased to 180/15000 (or maybe it was 180/12000, but either way, it was high) within 90 days.

I don't know why people get so bummed when they create an account and it ends up having 5/500 as limits. They quickly increase if you work them right. Yes, the higher limit accounts ARE nice, there is no doubt about it, but that does not make the 5/500 accounts losers. I have accounts that started at 5/500 over 2 years ago and they are now TRS+ accounts with limits above 1,000 and sales of over $4,000 per month.

The good news is, if you want limits NOW, you don't have to max out your limits with items you actually intend to sell. You can just list 2 or 3 items and max out your quantity for these items, and it's all the same in eBays eyes. Just in case you were concerned about the time it takes to set up all the different listings.

Shocker I see you here.

This method works 100% of the time. Don't do it with super high risk items, be smart. You can edit the listing BACK to 1 or whatever you had before after the limits are increased...

This is actually how I increase 5K+ limits...Although I don't use them because I don't have EIN's with paypal, I intend too so I just max a listing or two and I'm good to go.

Obviously its smart to have more listings as its not noticeable.

My biggest and strongest acc had it's limits raised on the first day. I just called in, said something like "I am a newbie at eBay, but I've heard that it is recommended to verify the EB account with an ID, just in case". They asked to send it in, I sent it, and got 100/3500 instantly. And then I was listing up to the limits, and they went up automatically once a month.

Any success with listing 2-3 items in multiple quantity on each, max out the limits and set it so that the item(s) won't sell, the system then automatically increases...

Always make sure to say you're selling items around the house or items you've collected for a long time so they don't ask for receipts or invoices!

How do you get docs for stealths? Any REAL advice would really help! Thank you!

This way I could call in on all accounts starting from the beginning. If they aren't already with high limits.
