How long do you have after purchase to activate your Tracfone? Specifically the ones that come with a few free minutes?

I've gone up to 3 months of waiting from purchasing the phone to activating it with no issues. Not sure how long you can wait from the date of purchase, I'd guess you can wait at least 6 months+

Once you activate it, you only have 60 days of service.

Yeah I dont think its an issue, I've definitely had some lying around for close to a year without issue

I have had them for at least 4 months no problem got to stock up when there is a $4.99 sale

The minutes/months do not start until you activate the phone. I do not think there is an expiration to activate the phone.

You can no longer get free minutes by activating Tracfones without purchasing a prepaid card.

wow, that sucks if people have a bunch of phones and cant use them. I only had 2 left luckily.

Someone mentioned an iphone app called "Burned" or something where you can get deposeable phone numbers. I have yet to try it yet.

Being an account seller, you can imagine how HAPPY I was (NOT!) that Tracfone up and did this with NO notice whatsoever. Yes, it is THEIR phone network and they CAN make the rules. But it pisses me off BIGTIME that many TracFone dealers advertise 20 free minutes and activation and then they just pull the plug without warning. Luckily, I don't have 100 of these like jayzpeez does, but I do have 60 of these damn things!

I am still going to include a Tracfone for all of my buyers, that won't change. But I am REALLY PEEVED by the way they handled it. If they had given notice, even 30 days notice, that this change was coming, I would just say, Oh well, they have to do what they have to do. But giving no notice is really sleazy and a terrible way to do business. I left a message for a friend of mine who is an attorney that specializes in class action lawsuits. I was the lead plaintiff in one telecom case a few years ago and I would be happy to do it again, if he feels this is actionable.

There are still ways to get these quite cheaply, you just got to be creative.

I meant you can still get quality phone numbers for around the same price as tracfones, sometimes much better deal than 20 mins, not that u need much more. Just got to think really hard on how to do it, I'm just saying it can be done without giving away too much, don't want any abuse.

I just had to return 177 phones back to Amazon. Luckily I just got them within 2-3 weeks ago and I dont have to pay return shipping.

Now to find another way to get numbers. F***!!!
