Etsy Stealth Not Possible??
 

So, I bought the guide and the VPN and made the Paypal and everything, but then I actually went on Etsy to open my account and found out that apparently now Direct Checkout is basically mandatory for all signups.

I thought, that's fine, so I proceeded to put in the bank info for my brand new bank account, but then I came upon the verification part of the sign up where Etsy asks you your name, address, birth date, and ssn. I entered in the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and real address and then used an EIN for the SSN part. Clicked continue and it said that they were having trouble verifying my identity and they now need me to upload an image of a drivers license, or government issued id/passport in order to verify my identity.

This of course, I cannot provide. How can I possibly do Etsy stealth now that they require all this info upfront to verify your identity?

Would really appreciate any help...

I can't get an EIN in a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name though. Some people said they tried to put in business name under which EIN was registered and it didn't work either.

Not possible to do stealth Direct Checkout. It's like a merchant account so all personal information is actually verified. EIN or other business type data does NOT work.

I've been unable to get DC to accept an EIN as well.

Unable isn't the point; it's simply not possible or allowed.

It worked before. You made an account, added your EIN under TAX ID tab...bing bang boom you could do DC with Etsy without a SSN. It may still work with some effort.

I can't see how that would be since it's always been a merchant account and therefore personal info was required.

They had confirmed it as well in the Et.sy forums when it first started, but I still use PP of course.

Many people just give them their EIN. Go look at the forums, it's been discussed. Even now, let's assume you still have a Paypal only account, you go on there and go to payment options and/or billing...there's a tab to enter tax id info. Enter your EIN. The rest I leave up to your imagination. :spy:

The main issue isn't being able to use DC, it's that you simply *can't* create an Etsy account anymore without using a family or friend's info to sign up as now they verify your identity and don't accept an EIN in place as DC is now mandatorily integrated into the signup process.

You can't accept PayPal as payment on Etsy anymore?

(Sorry if this is a stupid question...never sold on Etsy before)

I am new here, please bear with me. I just bought Ebay Stealth and haven't read yet, had to look up what stealth account mean. Etsy integrity is hypocritical and small minded people under name of "integrity". It is beyond my words to describe how disappointed I am in them. I tried honest and reasonable way with them but didn't go anywhere. Have thought abut getting family and friends involved but decided to try this after read discussions. I hate them but desperately need to get back to Etsy to sell as sales at Ebay dropped to 1/4 since Etsy becomes major player in handmade area. If anyone knows how to set up Stealth at Etsy, please share with one desperate and confused seller, perhaps thousands out there/here, then we'd be saved.
