Does eBay ban people for wrong categories?

Anyone ever get in trouble/suspended for ignoring categories, and just listing everything in computers or electronics? (If their account is past the high risk worries stage.) :ban?:

You'll get warnings / limitations. Don't do it ;)

They won't ban you for one mistake, but if you keep listing in the wrong categories, then you will eventually get banned. How quickly that will happen would depend on what you are selling. If they see it as a minor mistake, you will get a few warnings first. If they think you are trying to pull a fast one, they are more likely to take more severe actions.

You get in trouble if you think you can do better than what ebay wants you to do.

Given your previous posts, you need to learn to go slowly and re-earn those high limits you enjoyed.
I wish I could say it happens overnight. It does not.

Keep the faith though. Learn stealth, as you are, and learn the enjoyment of beating ebay.
:juggle:

PS...... No account ever has absolute immunity from ebay. We wish it otherwise.

Greenbean is exactly right. You will waste more time and effort trying to get around these rules that you would by simply playing by their rules.

If you accidentally listed a sewing kit in electronics, they would assume it was a mistake and just send you a polite warning. If you decided to list Windows 10 Premium in electronics, hoping to avoid scrutiny, then you will have problems.

eb isn't as dumb as you think OP - people have tried this and failed on numerous occasions

OK. Won't do it. Wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving money on the table unnecessarily. I've played by the rules, and don't care about them anymore, if they wouldn't notice.

rsot, trying to learn how smart eBay is. Apparently they aren't as smart as I thought they were, but they aren't completely dumb either. Trying to fine tune my understanding of their intelligence level. :-)

The only reason to do that would be to get around the category limits. Ebay might not be the brightest but theyre smart enough to catch on to that old trick and that will lead to a warning then a suspension.

Final value fees. I won't do it, because consensus is not to, because they'll catch it. After how they've treated me recently, I'd do it if I could... They're stealing $300 from me, because my eBay Bucks won't be redeemable now. Legit account, not a stealth, truly did nothing wrong.
