Can you get linked by browser fingerprints? eBay/PP, 2015
 

Good evening,

So, I purchased eBay Stealth, and it states that eBay only tracks you through Flash objects, cookies, and IP address.

However, I would like to know if eBay or PayPal could also link accounts by for example canvas hash, screen resolution, unique fonts, etc.

There are some threads stating that eBay doesn't use browser fingerprints, but they are old and I am unsure of whether it is also true at this time (2015-2016).

Basically I created different accounts using the same browser (didn't think about it). Changed my IP everytime, deleted all cookies everytime, but then I went to Panoptoclick website and found that my browser was unique among 6m tested ones.

Should I start anew or will I be fine?

we do not know for sure if they use fingerprinting. There have been a few threads on opinions, so you can do a search....

There are precautions you can take with differing user strings for OS and differing browsers...but the resolution is a harder one to keep differing, personally I would not bother if alot else different....

I dont believe they use browser fingerprinting - yet.
I use similar setting for all of my selling accounts and have never had an issue.
Of course this can change on a moments notice. one never knows with ebay and paypal.

It's possible. Changing your browser fingerprint is quite easy, I wouldn't risk otherwise.
