eBay monitor private messages?
 

After searching the forums i didn't find an answer in regards to this specific question. If I want to buy something on eBay with a stealth account, i was going to ask the seller if he'd ship it to a "friend" i.e. my real address, if he says yes and i send him my address in a message on eBay does their computer system auto read messages SPECIFICALLY in regards to black listed addresses ? Obviously i wouldn't tell him my address until he says yes because if he reports the message to eBay for whatever reason prior to that it would be a problem, but if he agrees and i send him my address in an eBay message should i be in the clear ?

Anyone have any experience with this?

You're sending a message through an eBay's internal system, of course they can dig up your message whenever they want to.
Even if their bot doesn't pick it up automatically, a manual review on your account can still pick it up and link you by the address.

I would worry about the manual review...

As a seller...

During the holidays it is not uncommon for people to ask it be shipped as "gift"... I do it if they have good history on eb and I check Feedback left for others and if they are not Negative offenders (people who leave lots of negative) then I do it.

I have never seen any of them become "unregistered"... Although I only follow uop a few weeks.
