Amazon Update for REAL Debit and Credit Card Verification
 

As you know there are all sorts of issues going on with Amazon at the moment and currently the only way to dispurse and verify your accounts is with real credit/debit card and address information.

A couple of people have mentioned that they're having difficulty even doing this with real cards.

From the Amazon Guy on the phone:

1. To verify your account after adding a credit/debit card you must have a minimum of £5 (for the UK)

They will occaisionally check that the card is still valid and if there is not £5 in the account to pass the verification check you will get an email saying ' please update your credit/debit card information - until then you have limited access'

and then I think everybody knows that to dispuse:

2. To dispurse your account after adding a credit/debit card you must have a minimum of £1 (for the UK)



You probably all know that anyway but just to make sure...

In fact you will find that Amazon state when contacting seller support a minimum of £10 should be on the card at any one time.

Having £5 on there though I have never had a problem.

ALIYOU - no VCC's don't work anymore. There is only 2 solutions now, real debit card OR look at solutions where you can apply for currency cards or 'sub cards' on the same account. In the UK there is one solution where you can have up to 100 cards attached to your business account, all new cards numbers. A bit of Google searching you will find solutions.

None of them work - no gift cards or incentive based cards either.

Yes and how to you propose you get around the address issue?

Because you might be able to have 100 cards, but all linked to say 3 High Street, London, W1 1AS

So then you create amazon accounts with addresses such as:

3 Main road
Newcastle
N1 1GT

3 The Willows
Glasgow
G1 1SE

3 Main Street
Lincoln
L1 1HN

ETC ETC

However I beleive the numbers alone (that is all that's needed to pass avs checks) will get you linked.

That's why it works as you can change the address in the portal per currency card.

Also, your example is invalid as they check house number + postcode.

Are you talking about currency credit cards ? Changing addresses is not good for credit rating. I was under impression only debit cards work this way

He's talking about a Mycashplus business account.

I don't think they had Amazon verification in mind when they started offering additional cards to business holders, lol.

Its changing your official address with your bank or credit card that you need to avoid

For example, if you have a HSBC bank account and want to use the HSBC debit card linked to this bank account for Amazon if you go into HSBC and change your address they have on file for you to pass the AVS then this will have an effect on a credit report in the UK. You can also get in trouble for fraud potentially so this really needs to be avoided.

High street banks didn't have in mind for people to add a 'delivery address' or in this case a 'stealth address' as a billing address to their REAL bank account to bypass Amazon verification as Taking the Micky says to do.

That is definitely one to be avoided if you don't want to end up in the can.

Cards issued in Gibraltar prepaid and France there has been success, I know a couple of VCC sellers here that offer them but they die off at 10-15 days so achieves nothing.

So cashplus business works on multiple amazon accounts ? I always thought cshpls is like a prepaid card thats wont work on amazon, maybe different with business account

And that is not something I would advise doing either.

It's down to the individual to make that choice (and deal with the inevitable consequences).

No card that you can buy over counter seems to be working for UK Amazon at the moment.

This may change in time as people experiment

The one thing that no one should be doing is changing their address with the actual banks to 'stealth' address. This is just going to cause anyone who does this a massive amount of trouble

Yes but you still need to be setup in REAL DETAILS.....hell, the 100 cards you can get with it is good BUT still need to be in your REAL details, the only thing this is solving is a new card per Amazon account. Think about how you can use that. Read around the recent threads on ideas and experiment.

No, they use AVS checks for house number and postcode need to match....

Both the door number and the post code need to be a match

So for

123 Bare Street
Up A Lane
Somewhere in Yorkshire
YO17 8HD

123 and YO17 8HD need to match.

Some AVS systems need to only be a partial match. Some only need to match the numbers in the postcode.

Amazon from what I know in the UK needs to be a full door number and postcode match, but I could be wrong on that so will wait for others to chime in to confirm or correct

They are not prepaid cards in the same way that a VISA card with £30 on it from Tesco is

Before opening these cards you give them all your REAL information. Then they send you a card that you can use linked to a bank account

If you have say 3/4 business each with their own address, then you could get 3/4 accounts with them, one for each business

What you cannot do is go around opening accounts with them using random details. That is fraud.

so after you have set up bank account,

how do you order the new cards, the ones that have steath details as the address,

will the new card not go stealth address,

or your bank registed address

you apply in your own name for bank a/c, amazon is in stealth, maybe read some other threads recently

do not change any addresses ever

Care to expand? At the moment getting working cards for Amazon UK is still a work in progress, so any insight is always welcome!
