EIN account limited after asking for PayPal Business Debit card
 

Sigh. Have a publicly anonymous LLC. Virtual address, cell, fresh dedicated IP, EIN, whole works. Registered for PayPal, and in their 4 step setup your business account list, the last item is get a PayPal Business Debit card. My real account has one and I love the 1% cashback, so I asked for one.

Crap. Thought I had seen a stealth account with an EIN can get these for the cashback.

Account is limited. (It didn't like the EIN as the SSN.) They're asking for photo ID, proof of address (utility, cell phone, insurance, or tuition bill), and proof of SSN (ssn card, pay stub.)

Other stealth EIN'ers, do you have PayPal Business Debit cards?

Would you walk away from this LLC, bank account, address, phone, IP, and EIN? Is it salvageable? Would suck to burn this whole company...

Would wining about how this is a company get anywhere?

Did you not think to check with the forum before asking for a paypal debit card with stealth?

Sigh. I could have sworn I read with an EIN account it was fine to get one. I must be remembering wrong. :doh:

Any way to proceed? I don't care at this point about the debit card...

Never walk away until you get the 'this limitation cannot be appealed' message... from similar situations I've read about in the past, what you're going to have to do is call in and try wiggle your way out of the SSN requirement by explaining this is a business operated by more than 1 person, and you're not comfortable linking your SSN to the account ect.

In some cases they'll unlock the account there and then, in others they might permanently limit your account, and maybe something in-between... call, be friendly, confident and try your best to appease them and hope for the best.

You can get all the information they're requesting by paying someone to create the docs for you, google around and you'll find people who do this work.

As always in these situations, be prepared for the worst with a plan b... good luck.

It is a law that all credit or debit cards be linked to an SS even if corporate. It is part of the Patriot Act along with the Fact Act.

Paypal has no option but to follow these laws.
